I was able to literally 1 hour ago.

I changed my DNS from Next DNS to CIRA Canadian Shield (Protected) to test it out.

Then I was only able to connect to the internet through Mulvad VPN.

Then I changed back to Next DNS and I observe the same behaviour.

How do I determine what is causing the problem?

How do I solve it?

Disconnect from the VPN.

try running: ping 8.8.8.8

If it responds your net is good.

try running: ping google.com

If it responds your dns is good.

A recent update to Mullvad VPN automatically enabled "Lockdown mode" for a lot people. Check if it is enabled and if so, disabling it should fix your issue.

Sounds like caching issue...? Have you done a complete reset? Like, shut everything down, then start up your modern, then router, then boot up your computer.
