The trespasser/thief argument is so convoluted as disease control/structural integrity is the practical reason. But hey, it’s , everything has to be discussed in the most abstract, idealistic terms possible.
Slop.

Millions of insects, slugs and small rodents are killed every year to protect crops, animal feed and food production no matter one's diet (eating is necessary for survival as far as I'm aware, humans haven't figured out photosynthesis yet), so it just gets even more ridiculous as a moral or ethical conundrum. Both parties here have no idea what they're talking about. Talking about livestock animals would've been a better argument, as one can survive without killing them.
Though I agree with the idea that you should not kill things for fun, of course.
calling an insect a "trespasser" and a mouse a "thief" is so funny to me. killing animals is okay when they don't respect property rights :) sorry little critter, maybe you should've abided by the NAP?
That roach doesn't respect the non aggression principle or property lines.
My in-laws watch my kids most weekdays. It’s really great how every couple of days I have to re-teach my young children to not squish bugs whenever they see one. Thanks grandma and grandpa. Maybe you should actually use your screen door.
Those vote counts are the most Reddit shit ever lol
My survival depended on killing that mouse instead of using one of those little flippy door traps
"killing animals for food" like the commenter is hunting for sustenance and not just picking packaged meat out of the isle
That cockroach violated the NEP (No Entrance Pests)
the biggest flaw of my hero academia
Based on what I've seen about reddit's opinions of that anime, they would think that the "biggest flaw" is that the female characters get too much screentime and don't stand around posing sexily enough. I swear the character Mineta was a prediction of what the show's fans would behave like.
The only way to salvage that grape colored character would have been to reveal that he is actually asexual and overcompensating for it because of societal expectations, or something like that.
Alas, that would require a level of skill with social comentary/creativity above "using violence to overthrow a vigilantee police state is bad and all these traumatised individuals lashing out are actually psychopathic mass murderers".
