Honestly if they're not doing damage have at it. We're painting this room before we move out anyway.

I feel like I’d allow this in a kid’s room. It’s fully behind the door so I don’t have to look at it and it’s their space.
Ultimately, it’s less destructive to the house than the missing door stopper.
Yeah that's what I was thinking too. At a certain age where they're not just finger painting randomness anymore, why not let a kid run wild with their room. It's not the end of the world if you need to re-paint the walls if you need to move.
It's a hollow core door, it's mostly paper anyway.

I'd allow or even encourage something like this but ideally only on the wall and not covering the door plus not with crayons or marker since those can be a pain to paint over. But other than that I agree, why not? It's a way for them to incorporate their own design ideas into their living space.

Actual question for parents : why is this a problem ? Drawing on the walls of one’s own room seems like a great creative outlet !
Rented out house, also fucks up with repainting it which you do need to do after sometime
Eh, heavy primer will take care if most anything with a few coats. It's only marginally more work

I think it is correct to let a child do something like this in their own space, but I'm not a parent lol
And like I said, my parents who, if you can believe this, are parents, would've killed me.
I think it's a bit of a generational thing. The internet has given us access to a lot more reliable information. Far more parents have learnt the difference between what's effective and what feels good. Yelling feels good, it doesn't actually work very well. Rolling with it, followed by a calm discussion gets far better results. Achieving this mentality is another matter, but using it as a goal helps moderate your reaction.

Eh. My opinion on this is "Your room, your walls." Unless the kid decides to start drilling holes or otherwise destroying the wall, it's fine. It can be painted over later on.
Or, it may be a good opportunity for washable paint.
Yeah, I'd probably leave that up for a few years. I have trouble throwing away any of her artwork.
I'd stick it in a gallery, must be on the original medium though.

Close. Nyan, or nya, is the equivalent of meow. So you need whatever sound a Japanese moose makes.

(Ah yes, my finest work: a joke in a language I don't speak well about a 65+ year old show most folks here probably haven't watched. 😅)

Yup. Go for it, kid. And the best part is you can drag out the rainbow farting moose any time a childhood story is needed to mildly embarrass and laugh with your kid.
