My dad introduced me to the sunchokes the other day and I've been lowkey obsessed with finding the cultural roots of the plant. I really liked this article, there's some info from a Lakota perspective here as well.

Miigwech for sharing -the article and the websites all linked from there are incredible! I grew up on Ojibwe lands, and enjoy the opportunity to learn more about Dakota, Lakota, Nakota, Sioux and other regional cultures. I’ve been trying to learn Anishnaabemowin - and I love seeing things written in Dakota script (apologies- not sure what to properly call it)- there’s so much cultural depth and history to the region and i enjoy these types of articles that tie things together
