Dunking on Tankies from a leftist, anti-capitalist perspective.

Rules:

  1. No bigotry of any kind.
  2. No tankies or right-wingers. Liberals are allowed so long as they are aware of this
  3. No genocide denial

We allow posts about tankie behavior even off fedi, shitposts, and rational, leftist discussion.

Curious about non-tankie leftism? If you've got a little patience for 19th century academic style, let a little Marx and Kropotkin be your primer!

Marx's Communist Manifesto, short and accessible! Highly recommended if you haven't read it

It's like these people have never been on the internet before Lemmy. Have they never seen drama between internet communities before? That alone, even if politics wasn't involved at all, would be more than enough to spark people with a grudge against communities. And tbqh considering the way that the .ml admins act, there's a greater-than-average amount of material there just on 'internet drama grounds', gruesome red fash politics aside.

But tankies always jump to the conspiracy. They MUST be oppressed but secretly beloved by the vast majority, you see, or they start to feel like their entire schtick is a bit pathetic, and wouldn't that be awful?

This is interesting timing. There’s a thread on an ask community on hexbear right now, asking why hexbear has been defederated from so many other instances. Made my all feed. Only hexbears and ml’s replying lol.

Ask the tankies who writes their checks to propagandize NATO. They basically believe NATO forced putin into crippling his own military capabilities, and that NATO somehow psyop'd every country surrounding Russia to want to join to further their imperialist goals. Not like they could possibly want protection from anything, right?

I thought you paid your bills with stolen crow pictures and the tankie stuff was your hobby but I guess being a paid to spread state-sponsored propaganda makes sense too.

IDK about anyone else, but if I could be secretly paid to spread anti-communist propaganda, so long as it's a connection I can easily hide from people as long as I'm alive, I would be taking secret payments. As it is, my family wouldn't think anything about it because they know my stance on this kinda stuff. And I could probably get away with it so long as I'm given a grace period to slowly start showing myself off more as anti-communist on Mastodon.

Would be up my alley, especially if/when war inevitably breaks out between China and Taiwan. I've already got plans to support any side supporting Taiwan if I'm in a country that gets dragged into the war, so yeah. Can't do military service because of my heart condition and I doubt any reasonable military would let me in, so I'd be down to be a propagandist and be doing civilian duty for said country. Even if it means being forced to learn a new language.
