I liked the David Lynch movie. It's proper weird. Perfectly fitting for such a weird world.
It’s one of my favorite series of books.
But the story is difficult to tell on screen. Same issue with most books: you can't see into the character's mind as well on screen as in writing.
Just get an actor with a glass skull.
