genuinely in the same boat, my phone has been in vibrate since '05
My ringtone is the bandit radio from STALKER: Clear Sky. Cheeki breeki!
А ну Чики-Брики и в Дамки!
my phone has been on do not disturb since 2016
Work or family doesn't need to reach you urgently or do you have a separate work phone or something
I have one phone that I check every now and then to see if I missed anything. If anyone needs to reach me I'll see it when I see it and get back to them if it actually is important. Work doesnt need me if I'm off the clock. Also have notifications off on every app except my bank (and texts and calls) I have never feel more calm. Everything wants your attention these days
I mean sometimes at work or in life there's something urgent. Outside of work I don't have to be immediately reachable but at work I really don't have that option because things wouldn't go anywhere not being able to reach others by phone.
That's true, I guess it does depend on your situation. 99% of the time for me I don't need to be reach immediately.
Not OP but same. I literally don’t remember my phone’s ringtone. Generally my phone is nearby and I check regularly for messages. Yes, calls and messages sometimes wait a few hours. I like it that way. I’ve never missed anything so important that I stopped silencing my phone and 99% of the communication I receive can wait till I’m ready to deal with it.
Before that it was Strongbad’s theme for Teen Girl Squad.
If it took me a few hours to reply at work I'd have very pissed off coworkers, not to mention how pissed off I would be if I was in the other end of it hah. I guess you're lucky in that things aren't as urgent.
My phone is always on vibration since 4 phones ago. If I miss it I'll call you back, If I don't that's your answer
I stopped bothering to personalize my phones, because they don't feel personal. They're just disposable tools.
Third Sanctuary from Deltarune by Toby Fox.
There's a lot of emotional investment in that song at the moment. And the ringtone is just the very first riff on repeat, as that part sounds like an actual ringtone (wondering if that's on purpose)
This song is famous for having an absolutely insane time signature that somehow works, as shown in this visualizer: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=De0FDShxgrs
Fellow Deltarune ringtone!!
I got Now's Your Chance To Be A
I have different Owen Wilson 'wow's for each of my most regular contacts message notifications.
For my ringtone it's the metal gear solid codec call.
Unsolved mysteries theme song
I used to be always on vibrate, but then I found out I can schedule do not disturb via calendar events, so I have started leaving my ringer on with it automatically disabling when I don't want it on.
This is my ringtone: Moment (instrumental) from Marmalade Boy. Watched this anime with my friends and this track is unforgettable. The show is about this girl whose parents divorce and get remarried to another couple who also got divorced, and then she tries to date her step-step-brother who is both her mom's husband's son and her dad's wife's son.
This track plays any time something dramatic happens, which is like every 5 minutes.
what the fuck
My call ringtone and text ringtones are pad noises from Star Trek. My alarm is the red alert sound.
My ringtone is the music from the battle of the Mutara Nebula from the Wrath of Khan. My text message notification is the photon torpedo sound.
I used the communicator chime for a long time, but these days I'm basically permanently in do-not-disturb. My phone only makes sound when a close contact calls, or for a timer/alarm. Anything else can wait.
The default. I know I can change it but idc what my ringtone is. As long as it alerts me to calls it's fine.
Portal theme tune, the one that plays through the radio when you are in the start habitat. Works beautifully.
I work for the NHS, everyone has the same ringtone on their work phones. It’s infuriating.
Cadence of Hyrule's jazzy Song of Storms rendition. It's very fitting as a ringtone for those out of the loop, and those in the loop usually get a kick out of it.
Off
nice. avatar beat was my ringtone for ages
Dingbiribiribunbaaa bumbaa bumbaaaa Dingbiribiribunbaaa bumbaa bumbaaaa Dingbiribiribunbaaa bumbaa bumbaaaa
It’s silent because the sound gives me a lot of anxiety. Just thinking about it now, I feel anxious in my core.
I don’t like surprises and I get a lot of spam call, but I do miss fun ringtones.
Combustible Edison - Vertigogo
Perfect slow start that builds up, and a great song.
Fresh Prince of Bel-Air outro.
My ringtone is now default. But for a long time it used to be the aqua teen hunger force "dancing is forbidden" song, without the starting noise of the baseball bat destroying the radio.
My alarm is also some default now, but it used to be a 5 second long loop of the EVE online shield alarm closely followed by the hull alarm .
There's this guy who I help with his computer and anytime he gets a text it goes "Hey good lookin! You just got a text!" which is fucking insane and also I love it at the same time
Mario kart wii options sound lol, it's actually perfect for a ringtone
It's like dun-dun dun dun-dun-dun dun dun dun-dun. DUHN-DUHN DUHN-DUHN-DUHN-DUHN DUHN DUHN DUHN-DUHN.
The Crash Bandicoot theme though I never have my phone off silent.
- Phone call: Circuit (from iOS, copied over from when I used an iPhone)
- Notification: Pizzicato (mostly for nostalgia)
- Alarm: Argon (sometimes have to switch it up or I'll sleep through)
In practice, it's on silent at the office and vibrate elsewhere.
The satellite phone ringtone from Jurassic Park 3.
The default one. Haven't even opened the ringtone page in the settings.
If my phone ever makes a single sound without me having pushed 'play' on some media, my first impulse is to throw it into traffic. I feel the same way about my computer.
I thrive on monotony
Default android
I've set my phone to have all notifications silent except for ringtones, which I like best :-)
my main ringtone is death grips - system blower (the train sound opening), and meowfey - from the start (a memey cat meow cover of the original) set for my partner.
