news
Welcome to c/news! Please read the Hexbear Code of Conduct and remember... we're all comrades here.
Rules:
-- PLEASE KEEP POST TITLES INFORMATIVE --
-- Overly editorialized titles, particularly if they link to opinion pieces, may get your post removed. --
-- All posts must include a link to their source. Screenshots are fine IF you include the link in the post body. --
-- If you are citing a twitter post as news please include not just the twitter.com in your links but also nitter.net (or another Nitter instance). There is also a Firefox extension that can redirect Twitter links to a Nitter instance: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/libredirect/ or archive them as you would any other reactionary source using e.g. https://archive.today/ . Twitter screenshots still need to be sourced or they will be removed --
-- Mass tagging comm moderators across multiple posts like a broken markov chain bot will result in a comm ban--
-- Repeated consecutive posting of reactionary sources, fake news, misleading / outdated news, false alarms over ghoul deaths, and/or shitposts will result in a comm ban.--
-- Neglecting to use content warnings or NSFW when dealing with disturbing content will be removed until in compliance. Users who are consecutively reported due to failing to use content warnings or NSFW tags when commenting on or posting disturbing content will result in the user being banned. --
-- Using April 1st as an excuse to post fake headlines, like the resurrection of Kissinger while he is still fortunately dead, will result in the poster being thrown in the gamer gulag and be sentenced to play and beat trashy mobile games like 'Raid: Shadow Legends' in order to be rehabilitated back into general society. --
Yeah sure okay. Wake me up when it actually happens.
If anyone was actually going to do it, it would be trump.
Oh yeah it's certainly possible that he actually will, but on the other hand he just kind of says shit sometimes to see how people will react. Anyway as a general rule I don't pay attention to what politicians promise, only to what they actually do.
I think it's that he's willing to do just about anything right now to divert attention from the Epstein stuff, but hey, a win's a win.
Yeah, I will take the W. But it's just silly how Biden had 4 years to do this at any point he wanted and Trump does it 8 months in to take heat of his pedophilia.
Think if we make enough noise about Epstein we can make him give us recreational weed federally too?
Shit. If he does that the dems will fight to undo this
the one thing they'll actually follow through on
This is what Justin Trudeau did in Canada to distract from the other broken promises he made. Seems like something was learned about this being a good distraction.
There's really no downside though. Getting arrested for a plant that's legal on the other side of an imaginary line is ridiculous and it ruins people's lives and families.
Well he's got a new route figured out for arresting minorities ala ice and it's a lot of fucking money left on the table with weed
Legitimately just makes sense, even from an evil perspective. The only ones that wouldn't change it are status quo suckoffers
He's setting the cops loose to beat the crap out of everyone but at least they won't be able to use smelling like Joe Rogan's recording studio as a justification.
PAY NO ATTENTION TO THE MAN BEHIND THE CURTAIN
Ain't gonna happen.
It would be nice though, oh also expunge felony convictions for marijuana offenses.
I think Biden spoke of this the same way. I wouldn’t give Trump any credit here at all because saying something doesn’t mean anything is happening
Yeah we'll see if it happens, but I will say I can see him doing it.
People thought the same about Biden to lock in the vote last year but they didn’t. Maybe this will move faster because there isn’t a strong FDA or CDC to stop them from reclassification, only DEA and police unions would whine.
This just comes across as jingly keys
They'll do it once they can find a way to make it only apply to middle-class conservative white guys.
the reason they haven't done it is the enforcement already works that way
definitely NOT related to the epstein story, which totally isn't important and didn't happen
"At least no one will be talking about my connection to Epstein when they're too stoned to care."
"Hey guys, remember when Trump gave us legal weed, and it didn't stop us talking about the Epstein files while we were high as a kite?"
He's doing for the California 40 something washed up stoner male podcaster crowd who believe free energy was stored in the library of alexandria.
the logical conclusion of rome weebs is looking at libraries asfree energy harnesseable by combustion
Now you see its EGYPTIAN so they made the pyramids which are electromagnetic nodal points and underneath are nephilim, so they clearly put the plans to make free energy into that library and the ~~papist~~ rome destroyed it.
Barron gave him a hit from his weed pen
"Slonkin' it" folks, can you believe it? That's what the kids are calling it, Barron, my beautiful boy, he let's me hit his vape and wow, all I can say is wow, I'm high as a kite, like, frankly, no one has ever seen!
I'm putting a McDonald's in the White House too
Too bad he's brand loyal to the garbage he eats, White Castle would be more appropriate.
If this isn't an obvious attempt at divert away from epstein, I don't know what is anymore.
If Trump gives us legal weed I'm gonna laugh so fucking hard
Didn't he say this either before or during his last term?
Probably
sure why not? works every time
I think it is TDS to say he is doing this to try to distract from the files stuff. It just seems so out of character for him to care enough about it
I think that it has basically worked?
I don't follow mainstream news much, but Trump's ability to suck all the air out of the room by doing crazy shit seems to have eliminated the 80% of my posts on Lemmy that were about Epstein. 🤔
Oh damn
to a lower schedule right?
...to worse than heroin and space coke combined.
closing the hemp/thc-a loophole keeps getting delayed. it's like two speeding trains coming at each other.
might just end up seeing the mail delivery hemp companies absorbed into some larger structure, likely with the huge megacorps that deal with dispensaries.
Costco for weed Costco for weed Costco for weed
Here in Michigan we just call it Lume
Michigan has the best dispensaries in the country, Cali Apple stores don’t have shit on Urb
