Can I have 15 years in stead? Better make that 50, starting a decade ago.

Idk, I think being a viking in the modern day would make you pretty hard to miss

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.world 3 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Not really, since I'm only a viking in the colloquial sense of living in Scandinavia and so are everyone around me 😁

[–] TheRealLinga@sh.itjust.works 2 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I've always wanted to visit! I have a significant amount of Scandinavian DNA

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Well if you're ever in Aarhus (second-biggest city in Denmark), let me know and I can lovingly slander the other two Scandinavian countries over coffee or beer 😁

[–] TheRealLinga@sh.itjust.works 2 points 10 months ago

I'll definitely take you up on that if I ever find myself in your section of the world!

[–] asteriskeverything@lemmy.world 10 points 10 months ago

I'm 15 again cuz this is deep

raise your hand if you've ever had 15 minutes of fame. And tell us about those 15 minutes of fame you had.

Does "made a meme and got a bunch of upvotes, but had the meme reposted across Discord then back to Reddit AND Lemmy" count as 15 minutes of fame?

[–] LemmyKnowsBest@lemmy.world 4 points 10 months ago

sure, accept that fame!

[–] pomodoro_longbreak@sh.itjust.works 3 points 10 months ago

Whoa that's legit.

[–] cactus_head@programming.dev 9 points 10 months ago (2 children)

I don't get, someone explain it to my dumbass

[–] Peppycito@sh.itjust.works 35 points 10 months ago

Andy Warhol said "everyone gets 15 minutes of fame" this is the opposite of that.

We haven't been alone since 2013 man, we've all had agents assigned to us. In the future, we'll be glad to have 15 minutes of anonymity!

@doleo@kbin.social recognition is what people want right now

(I don't believe this, I'm just explaining my interpretation of the graffiti)

I wish the FBI agent having to surveil me a happy holidays and a happy new year!

[–] frozencat@sh.itjust.works 4 points 10 months ago

funni penguin man on top

[–] doleo@kbin.social 2 points 10 months ago

Might have been more apt if they'd written "recognised", instead.

I can think of some very productive activities I could perform with 15 minutes of total anonymity.
