9 months πŸ˜… In Iceland they decided that only a privatized small panel was allowed to diagnose ADHD in adults instead of any fucking psychiatrist. The wait time is now 3 years.

It's the same with everything here, ReykjavΓks public transport system was privatized just to line some fucking uncles pockets. It's never been worse.

I believe the only reason the country scores low on corruption is because it's just a bunch of politicians , lawyers and their uncles making sure that it's all legally ok while it's a moral garbage dump.

I drove myself to the ER where the doctor gave me an emergency counselling referral and I got my first appointment two days later. Without the referral the next appointment was three months away.

There are many hospitals that have to, by law, take you free of charge or at a very low cost. I will try to find the website with the list but this was literally ten years ago.

All I'll say is that at least you have an appointment. I tried getting my kid into a mental health specialist to deal with his anxiety and not only was I not able to get an appointment I was told by multiple offices that unless my kid was literally threatening suicide they would not see them.

9 months is heck of a long time, you should put it to good use.

The basic set of thinking is what do you want to put your effort into. Staying on your feet for 9 months will in itself be a worthwhile effort to prove to yourself that this motherfucker stayed alive. Lot to gain as your brain gains from leaning into challenges

Other option, if you suspect that might not be a realistic expectation, is to get to experimenting. There is hell of a lot to go through and you have to knock on all doors before you have an idea what helps. SSRI substances have months of comeup time and by the time you get in front a psychiatrist you might have an idea whether the most likely prescribed substance does anything to you.

9 months is by no means some kind short patience game in the ER waiting for "medical professionals". Its literally fucking leaving you in the desert. And you must act accordingly and get walking, there is no reinforcement coming.

Foooof, even online? I'd look for group therapy as a stop gap in the meantime honestly.

Or just rephrase your therapy concerns as mΓͺmes and crowdsource them to us lol
