As far as I can tell Xiaomi Huawei and Samsung aren't names of software.
As far as i can tell modern smartphones don't have hardware-UIs anymore

When I was living in China I noticed something similar. It was as if they were all trying to look as close as possible to Apple while being just distinct enough to not be an issue. Apple is huge in China, but not everyone can afford it I guess.
What?! Pixels have dummy thick padding everywhere. Look at the Quicksettings or the Settings menu. The only thing is that asian Android skins actually uses your phones color screen properly instead of the drab washed out colors you get in the Pixel UI.
I know, but I think a Pixel looks visually different from Samsung and Xiaomi phones (I think). Look at something like the settings app in those phones, for example.
Samsung wants to make its Android devices look different from stock Android to help get user lock in.
Chinese manufacturers follow Samsung's UI since it has become the premium Android product in a lot of markets.
