Honestly, I agree entirely. I was a lurker for the most part, and it was so tiring wading through the random horny posting throughout Reddit. There was a subreddit I followed that was specifically the same as another well-known subreddit, but had an additional rule that no mentions of sex were allowed. Even the various subs satirizing other popular subs (like ShitpostXIV, which focused on Final Fantasy XIV) eventually became half cropped porn. It gets tiring, and I was actually relieved to see the lack of NSFW topics here.

Yeah, the humor on big subreddits always tended to be so juvenile. It was cringeworthy whenever a “haha boobs lol” kind of joke got upvoted to the top of threads. Folks here seem to be much more in control of themselves!
A big part was how run into the ground it was. I don't want to seem like a grump, but any funny joke losses it's appeal when it is repeated too many times. I also wasn't a fan of when one person would actually make a good joke by quoting a TV show in a way that was on topic, and then people would just reply to that comment with other quotes from the show. Like ok, you proved you got the reference but you also killed it, thanks.
Ah, the old "what are you doing stepbro" comment. The definition of an overused, unfunny joke.
I think my biggest horny-joke peeve was the "must not look". The 'joke' relies on the shallow nonsensical (and frankly, misandrist) idea that every man is an emotionless, purposeless horndog who only ever cares about sex, and is literally incapable of being around a woman without immediately trying to do a sex.
Do most men enjoy sex? Do most straight men enjoy admiring those they find attractive? Sure, like most people do, regardless of gender. Does men's desire deny those men their personhood or identity; are they devoid of other passions or interests? Of fucking course not!!
But for reddit... a man and woman are in the same photo. The photo could be of literally anything, it doesn't matter, it works for karma-farming. You now have two possible jokes:
-
He's looking at her tits/ass? You don't need to make a joke, actually. Post as-is, let the comments fill with (sigh) unzips or similar. Actually, make that your OP post title, too.
-
He's not looking at her tits/ass? Surely he is as desperately horny and single-minded as the rest of us, surely his sexual frustration defines how he moves throughout the world like it does us, surely he is thinking must-not-look must-not-look.
The kind of people who make that joke really indicate that their own sexual frustration has become such a defining part of their own lives that they can't fathom anybody else feeling differently.
People always try to make a funny/horny/witty comment, on Reddit, for karma. Karma doesn't exists here. You have up- and down votes but no overall score and your comment doesn't get pushed to the top just because people voted it up.
With NSFW content comes a rather gross group of questionable people, whether you'd like to admit or not.
I'm not saying that folks who gravitate towards NSFW content are a sketchy/gross group! I'm just saying that NSFW content will unfailingly bring in those kinds of people.
I dunno. I kind of wish there were an anti-corporate place to be horny. Right now there really isn't.
There's plenty of horny on Mastodon fwiw
I'd imagine nsfw instances will show up sooner or later, mean if theres ever a more determined group of people its horny folk haha
THE PEEN WANTS WHAT THE PEEN WANTS
i'm new here. i never used reddit except if it was a search result for a specific, usually technical, question.
every thread i've looked at here has been like this one, intelligent, reasoned, no dunking except to look like a donut for effect.
the reddit experience described here… wow. that's many years of boiling frog.
I think that a lot of the people commenting here mainly stayed on very large subs or something. This hasn't been my experience with Reddit. In the subs I usually frequent, there are some short joke comments, but usually there's useful discussion and there is basically no horny posting. It might be because they're smaller subs or maybe I got lucky? IDK.
