A place to share alternatives to popular online services that can be self-hosted without giving up privacy or locking you into a service you don't control.

Trying to set up my own lemmy instance to move from lemmy.world, however I'm having some issues which I go into in the linked post (and its comments).
Wondering if anyone here would know any better?

I saw that however I already have nginx setup and would not like to switch to caddy. I figured it's also better to learn how to do it myself.

Thanks tho, it's a useful resource definitely.
