Sakuna - Of Rice and Ruin is an action video game with farming elements, developed by Edelweiss and published by Marvelous. The story follows Princess Sakuna, a spoiled warrior and harvest goddess who is banished with her familiar Tama and a small band of humans to the Isle of Demons.

This is a place for friendly discussion, memes, guides, art, gameplay questions, screenshots and the like. Discrimination and harrassment won't be tolerated.

2. Offtopic Posts

Anything not related to Sakuna, like politics, real-world news etc. is better suited elsewhere and will be removed. The same goes for NSFW material.

3. Don't argue about religion

Sakuna is a game with religious elements that might rub people the wrong way, but please keep in mind that it is just a game and the sometimes goofy depictions of gods and goddesses are entirely fictional and should not be taken too seriously.

It is completely fine to discuss these elements and possible relations to IRL religions, but please keep it civil.

4. No Advertisements

It is okay to post about merchandise, but links to those "design your own merch" sites will be removed, as those are almost always scams featuring stolen art. Affliate links will be removed as well. This isn't Etsy.

5. Provide Sources

If you're going to post art, comics, guides, screenshots etc. that are not your own OC, please mention the name of the original creator and ideally also a link to their portfolio/website. (Pinterest is almost never the original source)

6. Suggestions are Welcome!

To celebrate the third anniversary of the farming action game by Edelweiss, Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin, developer Naru has teased a new announcement for the first half of 2024.

Based on the wording, it’s uncertain whether this announcement will be about Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin. So, just keep in mind that it may not necessarily relate to that project.

Naru said the following, translated by our team’s Ryuji:

“The third anniversary of Sakuna: Rice and Ruin! We hope you have been enjoying the currently ongoing free trial of the game [on Nintendo Switch Online]. We are so grateful that this game’s support is still trending after three years since its release. Thank you very much. We will finally be able to make a big announcement in the first half of next year. Please look forward to it!”

We’ll keep you all updated on whatever this upcoming announcement will be.
