Snorkeling gear? So, what, a 5 foot Reed like in looney toons? Because you don't snorkel to sit on the bottom.
You snorkel so you can continually see what's below you without holding your breath. Then you spit it out when you're ready to dive.
Don't you mean you spit it out when you come back from the depths like a whale?
If you black out with a snorkel in your mouth while you're diving, it will cause water to rush into your lungs and you will almost certainly die.
When you said "spit it out", I thought you meant the water in the snorkel, rather than the snorkel itself. But thanks for that warning. I will make sure to not have the snorkel in my mouth when diving below snorkel depth.

You'd be surprised how often dedication and crazy coincide. Nature photographers are crazy, the things they'll do to get the perfect shot.
It's amazing that the beaver held still for four whole years.
