It's a BPA plastic and is considered an Endocrine disruptor:

Endocrine disruptors “hack” the hormonal message and produce effects such as neurobehavioral deficits, learning difficulties and they have even been linked with syndromes like Asperger’s and autism. Other effects are endometriosis and poor sperm quality, which results in increased infertility. There are more and more infertility clinics in our cities. They also produce metabolic disruption, which leads to obesity, hypertension and Type 2 diabetes, which can cause a lot of health problems and a public huge health expenditure.

BPA has been considered unsafe for a long time now. Very few baby products DON'T have the label "BPA Free". So this is just confirming what we've suspected for a long time now.

Unfortunately, in "BPA Free" plastic, BPA has usually been replaced with very similar chemicals, which probably cause the same problems.

Valid, plastics in general is our generations lead or cigarettes or Freon (CFC). It's doing all sorts of harm everywhere. From messing with fish hormones and reproduction to microplastics permeating our bodies to outright causing a whole slew of medical conditions.

Hopefully Europe doesn't replace their BPA with BPF and BPS the way much of Asia and North America have. They don't seem much better.
