MODERATORS

I know people hate them and I think they pretend to care about trans people but cause more harm than good? And I think they're related to transmedicalism but I don't know what that is either... Also why does it look/sound like "true scums"?? Do they call themselves that?! X3

(btw I just noticed I can't find this comm at all in Jerboa, the search thingy only shows 10 comms and this one isn't one of them when I search for "trans" :< so I had to go to my profile and find the last post I made here)

Transmed = If you don't medically transition you're not trans

Truscum = If you're not crippled by dysphoria, you're not trans

They're both gatekeepers that have latched on to whichever particular form of gatekeeping aligns with their own experience of being trans, and decided that that is the only way to be trans.

ohhh I see, ye I knew of these kinds of people but didn't know those were the terms used for them, ty for the info! :>

but what does the word "truscum" mean? like is it an acronym turned into a word or what?

Ok, so I have a related question.

I thought I had seen "transcum" before.

Is that the same thing, or did I misread something?

[–] TheCoolerMia@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 7 months ago

I also thought I had seen that X3 ye I think we just misread it but I dunno, maybe that's a real term too

This thread has the potential to attract the wrong crowd, so just making this clear: this community will not tolerate trans-medicalism or any other kind of invalidation. This is a safe space for all trans people, those medically transitioning and those not.
