Has someone else noticed that from certain camera angles the colours are off, most visibly on the mclarens?

[–] t0fr@lemmy.ca 11 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

Yes, I've noticed that too. Especially when the McLarens and Ferraris are side by side

Edit: think it's just the camera for corners 1 & 2

[–] davetapley@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago

Yes this was bugging me too! How strange.

[–] l_b_i@yiffit.net 2 points 2 years ago

There is one corner they look rather red.

Really? Found it pretty interesting so far. Quite eventful.

[–] davetapley@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

Yeah I enjoyed it. Good racing up and down.

Has KMag fucked the stewards' wives?

[–] alphacyberranger@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

Apparently he pissed in their cereal as well

[–] FrostyTrichs@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 years ago

Didn't Steiner say something about a Viking cum back when he was TP?

[–] lazycouchpotato@lemmy.world 9 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Bearman 🐐🐐🐐🐐

He's possibly scored more points today than some drivers will in this entire season.

[–] Garric@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

I think he'll score more points today than Sargeant over 2 seasons.

[–] GreenEngineering3475@lemmy.world 6 points 2 years ago (1 children)

And Stroll is in the barriers. First safety car of the season.

[–] Sentau@discuss.tchncs.de 4 points 2 years ago

Amateurish from stroll

[–] dimspace@lemmy.world 6 points 2 years ago

Aaaaaand Max already has a gap you could fit half the F2 grid in

[–] lazycouchpotato@lemmy.world 5 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

Bearman up to 9th. He's absolutely killing it.

Edit: aw he lost the position

Edit: He got it back πŸ’ͺ

[–] Sentau@discuss.tchncs.de 5 points 2 years ago (1 children)

If that Norris start is not a jump start then I don't know what is

[–] l_b_i@yiffit.net 6 points 2 years ago (2 children)

The jump starts are based on telemetry, if he was behind the sensor in his box and moved and was still behind, no jump start. You can technically start moving early, so long as you don't cross the sensor before the lights go out.

[–] guylacaptivite@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 years ago (2 children)

I hope this is not going to give others ideas though. Don't want to see the guys line up further back just to try and get more momentum before the lights.

[–] calamitycastle@lemmy.world 4 points 2 years ago (4 children)

His start was massively compromised as a result, since he stopped and started again.

Arguably defined his race v Piastri all told. I think it was right to not penalise him tbh

Its happened before, I remember Bottas 2020 in Hungary. As far as I know, the timing for the final lights out is random so you can't reliably time it.

[–] guylacaptivite@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 years ago (3 children)

Yeah I remember him having a crazy 0.00something reaction time. I even remember Vettel straight up saying he didn't believe that in post races interviews. It was probably a case of perfect anticipation more than reaction.

Two things.

  1. How has Norris not got a penalty yet.
  2. How is Perez not being investigated yet.

Are the stewards asleepΒΏ?

[–] t0fr@lemmy.ca 4 points 2 years ago

They're taking really long.

And now there's no jump start penalty for Norris at all

[–] GreenEngineering3475@lemmy.world 4 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

Perez got noted for unsafe release by stewards.

Edited:Now Norris is being investigated.

[–] lazycouchpotato@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Both under investigation now.

[–] Sentau@discuss.tchncs.de 3 points 2 years ago

Took their own sweet time

[–] Photographer@lemmy.world 5 points 2 years ago

Fingers crossed for McLaren today!

[–] lazycouchpotato@lemmy.world 4 points 2 years ago

10s penalty for Magnussen? No penalty for Norris?

Interesting decisions.

[–] alteredEnvoy@feddit.ch 4 points 2 years ago

KMag absolute the train engine

[–] Gsicht@lemmy.world 4 points 2 years ago

Come on Oscar...

[–] alphacyberranger@lemmy.world 4 points 2 years ago

Kick must be kicking themselves now

[–] dimspace@lemmy.world 4 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) (1 children)

McLaren and Mercedes didn't double stack because...........

gambling on another s/c i guess?

[–] l_b_i@yiffit.net 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Did they have enough space to double stack without impeding?

[–] dimspace@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) (1 children)

i mean, you can slow down the second car before hitting the pits and then crawl in the pit lane, only needs a 5 second gap or so

Did something happen to Magnusson at the end? I thought I saw him drop about four places in a couple of seconds but no mention of it on the commentary

[–] guylacaptivite@sh.itjust.works 4 points 2 years ago (1 children)

He had 20 seconds of penalties so that's probably it.

[–] Worx@lemmynsfw.com 2 points 2 years ago

Oh haha yeah I forgot πŸ˜…
