Why is it so pixilated, never seen something pixilated like that 😆

.gif files basically aren't used anywhere anymore, gif has just become a term for short videos without sound.

For example imgur coverts all gifs and similar to .mp4 files since it's a much more efficient format.

Please don't start posting actual gif files lol.

Needs less .jpeg, can still read the text at the top!

It is fullsize in Firefox (at lemmy.world) but tiny on my Android app (Connect). How about you?

[-] Catoblepas@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 11 months ago
[-] rizoid@lemmy.world 3 points 11 months ago

Full Size for me on Voyager.

[-] Catoblepas@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 11 months ago

Weird, when I check it on mobile it's small and on desktop it's large on Voyager.

[-] Vengefu1Tuna@lemmy.world 4 points 11 months ago

It's full-size on Liftoff. Looks good!

[-] Wish_you_were_a_beer@lemmy.fmhy.ml 4 points 11 months ago

I'm on liftoff also and it's super low res for me

[-] Vengefu1Tuna@lemmy.world 1 points 11 months ago

Wow that's strange, mine's really clear. I can even read the "made with mematic" white text in the bottom left corner.

[-] squaresinger@feddit.de 4 points 11 months ago

Tiny in Firefox at feddit.de

[-] FediFuckerFantastico@lemmy.world 2 points 11 months ago

Full size in Connect on Android for me

[-] machinaeZER0@lemm.ee 2 points 11 months ago

Full size on Thunder!

[-] rodhlann@kbin.social 2 points 11 months ago

Full size on Kbin!

[-] XpeeN@sopuli.xyz 2 points 11 months ago

Really small and blurry on liftoff

[-] eddietrax@dmv.social 3 points 11 months ago

Looks great on Memmy

[-] Psaldorn@lemmy.world 3 points 11 months ago

That's what she said

[-] orangeNgreen@lemmy.world 14 points 11 months ago

As long as we don’t start the gif versus gif pronunciation debate here.

[-] SELECTstarFROMreddit@sh.itjust.works 13 points 11 months ago

Let's just settle on calling it gif here on Lemmy and leave it at that

[-] GingeyBook@lemmy.world 6 points 11 months ago

No way you're going to convince me to call it gif

[-] jballs@sh.itjust.works 3 points 11 months ago

So it begins...

[-] dandroid@dandroid.app 2 points 11 months ago

I have a friend named Geoff who pronounces the g in gif like the word "gift". Whenever he says it, I'll make sure I start saying his name with the G pronounced the same way.

[-] eric5949@lemmy.cloudaf.site 11 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

Wow that's weird, connect is playing it in the thumbnail while I'm scrolling past it.

[-] Bristlecone@lemmy.world 2 points 11 months ago

Yeah! Connect got dope fast!

[-] Speculater@lemmy.world 3 points 11 months ago

Voyager returns to where you were on scrolling after you comment. Connect would just make your refresh the entire thread. Connect supports responding with pictures though...

[-] eric5949@lemmy.cloudaf.site 3 points 11 months ago

Let's be honest, they all kinda suck and are all missing features compared to something like Relay, RIF, or Apollo. It's just to be expected with something new, find them the time reddit apps had to develop and they're probably all going to be great.

[-] Bristlecone@lemmy.world 1 points 11 months ago

Haha that's true too. It's a wild life out here post-reddit, but I really am loving it

[-] s12@sopuli.xyz 8 points 11 months ago

Wonder if other animated image types work too.

Video formats like mp4 work I believe.

[-] Sikeen@lemmy.ml 2 points 11 months ago

yeah me too, there is the fpeg animated file format, probs some others. i wonder if lemmy has an "officially supported file formats" page?

[-] reddig33@lemmy.world 2 points 11 months ago

Attention whore.

[-] morix@feddit.de 2 points 11 months ago
