In some cases when I post a comment to a topic on a different instance, the comment will seemingly just disappear into thin air. Posting and commenting to the Lemmy Support community seems to work mostly fine, even though it is on lemmy.ml while my account is on lemmy.world. Any comments I tried to make on feddit.de just plain disappeared, though, no trace of them anywhere, not in my profile, not in the discussion thread, not even on the actual feddit.de instance.

Any idea what's going wrong here?

Could be due to the load, yes.

You guys really should spread out a bit instead of all of you using an account at lemmy.ml... the point of this technology is that its federated so you can just discuss things from any instance.

I would be happy to have you at https://lemmy.today and there are lots of other choices at https://join-lemmy.org/instances.

This is maybe due to the heavy load, it feels like the instance isn’t running smoothly.

I’ve been noticing fluctuation all day on the instance, but it seems to be slowly getting better. The slowest is any sort of writes (new comments or voting on posts).

Even if your comment doesn’t seem to go through though, if you refresh it will be there.
