Influencer Adin Ross said he had one last chance to record content with Andrew Tate. A law firm says the comment tipped off U.K. authorities.

I am shocked that Andrew Tater-Tot would attempt to elude justice. Shocked, I tell you.

How fitting that a racist moron who he considers a friend inadvertently gave him away. Awesome with a side of good riddance.

I don’t know if this is a case of a “totally innocent” person trying to run away from the law and getting busted

OR

Some moron fucking over his hero trying to make himself look and feel important.

Either way it’s hilarious.

[-] Retrograde@lemmy.world 44 points 3 months ago

Definitely the latter and yeah still hilarious

[-] kautau@lemmy.world 43 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

Yeah if you’re being extradited for sex trafficking and rape, there’s an incredibly high chance you are not innocent. Foreign governments only go through that amount of work if they think they have a solid case, and based on what I’ve read about Tate’s “subscribe to learn how to get needy women to produce porn for you as you scoop off the top” I’m sure it’s legit

Oh absolutely, you're spot on. I'm ready to celebrate when this rancid human gets sent to rot in an English prison, it'll be a great day for humanity

[-] foggy@lemmy.world 49 points 3 months ago

This is like a month after that rapper showed up on his stream for like 5 minutes, barely said anything, and then left with a huge bag of cash.

Basically got robbed on stream by a famous person. And smiled while it happened.

Adin Ross has been taking some Ls.

[-] Landslide7648@discuss.tchncs.de 28 points 3 months ago

I don’t get what’s happening here. What’s happening? Can you explain? Who are these people?

[-] foggy@lemmy.world 51 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

The dude running the poorly lit stream is adin Ross. Idk who he is really, some famous streamer. Someone else maybe chime in on who tf he is and how he got famous?

He got Playboy carti, a current famous rapper, to come on his stream. I guess he had to buy this rapper a Ferrari and offer him a bag of $2M cash to get him to agree to come on his stream. The link I provided is the rapper showing up on stream to take his bag of cash, say basically nothing, and then leave.

The guy running this stream is the same dumbo that idolizes Tate. Tate is a guy who capitalized on incels until he got arrested for trafficking humans. He's out of jail for now. I guess he still isn't fully off the hook, because I guess he was about to flee to Romania illegally. He told adin Ross in a private communication.

Same guy that got politely robbed by a famous rapper on stream very shortly thereafter accidentally foiled the plans of a wannabe fugitive in stream.

[-] Landslide7648@discuss.tchncs.de 20 points 3 months ago

2 million dollars? That can’t be real. Holy shit

[-] Zitronensaft@feddit.de 17 points 3 months ago

The CEO of the streaming platform was participating in the stream, I think this visit was meant to be a publicity stunt to drum up more interest in the platform which is trying to become an alternative to Twitch. It’s investor money that was lost here, not the streamer’s money.

[-] 18_24_61_b_17_17_4@lemmy.world 6 points 3 months ago

Did the money really get stolen though, or was it "stolen"?

[-] towerful@programming.dev 12 points 3 months ago

A famous person turns up for 6 minutes to a poorly lit room, wearing dark clothes and a mask, says "music 2024" a lot, DOESNT say the platforms name (like he was asked), and fucks off.
If i was paying a celeb a shitload of money for a publicity appearance, i would be wanting more value for my money.

If it was $2m, thats $350k per minute.
Usher is $1m for an hour. 50 Cent is $600k per song. All of which is performance.
Turning up for a photo-op should be much cheaper.
And the quality of that stream is attrocious

[-] MrBusiness@lemmy.zip 5 points 3 months ago

I know absolutely nothing about Carti, but what if he did that shit on purpose? -Doesn't like Adin Ross for one of the many legit reasons I've been seeing people listing. (Idk shit about Adin either) -Is told he'll get paid $2m to show up -Does the absolute least, still gets paid -Leave

Back when this happened people were giving Carti shit. But after learning all this stuff about Adin, it seems Carti pulled a pro move. Idk if Carti is also a complete scumbag, but pulling that shit on Adin was deserved.

[-] LiveLM@lemmy.zip 3 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

Honestly, I think it just boils down to Carti being an asshole to people around him and Adin being a naïve idiot lmao.

No really, Adin with all his cash could easily have an employee just to handle his interactions with artists, agreements and whatever, yet he's over here handing out racks in a duffel bag?

Carti is obviously in the wrong but I won't shed a single tear for Adin lol

[-] vaultdweller013@sh.itjust.works 11 points 3 months ago

Tate fled to Romania ages ago, he was trying to flee from Romania. He has the uncanny ability to piss off every country he resides in. Also im pretty sure hes wanted in the UK.

[-] TheBest@midwest.social 10 points 3 months ago

To be fair, Playboy Carti has very weird media requests and rarely ever does interviews. Adin was desperate to compete with the likes of other streamers, like Kai Cenat who's had crazy poplar rappers like Nicki Minaj and Offset on. Tried to ride that wave and got fell off the surfboard.

[-] TheBest@midwest.social 10 points 3 months ago

please do not take this as support for the kid, just wanted to add some more info

[-] Dagwood222@lemm.ee 31 points 3 months ago

Let me get this straight.

He got caught the first time because he did a video with a pizza box that gave away his exact location?

Then he does more videos?

I don't know much about this guy, but I wouldn't listen to his advice

[-] Fedizen@lemmy.world 13 points 3 months ago

I thought the pizza box thing wasn't true because the authorities were already gearing up to nab him when that video aired

[-] AdolfSchmitler@lemmy.world 5 points 3 months ago

iirc they didn't know if he was in Romania or not but seeing the pizza box confirmed that he was. Of course they already knew where he lived just not if he was there.

[-] Fedizen@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago

why wouldn't they have just tracked his phone?

[-] Dagwood222@lemm.ee 1 points 3 months ago

You have heard of 'burner' phones, haven't you?

[-] Fedizen@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago

You think the guy that blabbed about fleeing Romania to Adin Ross has some kind of burner phone rotation system?

[-] Dagwood222@lemm.ee 1 points 3 months ago

Not all crooks are stupid all the time.

[-] Dagwood222@lemm.ee 2 points 3 months ago

You need an exact location to arrest someone.

[-] drivepiler@lemmy.world 8 points 3 months ago

And we all know that exact locations can only be obtained through pizza box identification methods, or PBIM for short.

[-] Notyou@sopuli.xyz 2 points 3 months ago

If it's a unique looking pizza box that is only sold in a certain city/town of Romania, then maybe.

[-] Honytawk@lemmy.zip 2 points 3 months ago

So great, now you have the town and the surrounding towns.

What's next?

[-] Notyou@sopuli.xyz 2 points 3 months ago

You would probably have to get with the Romanian police to figure out what they did.

If you want to keep talking about nonsense then let's look out their window while noticing the time of day that they are streaming. Then we can do "math" and figure the angle of the sun and what streets it could and couldn't be on. Then we can can call those pizza shops that deliver to those streets and ask if they had a recent order. Around the same time as the stream. Actually maybe just that last part would work....

[-] setsneedtofeed@lemmy.world 4 points 3 months ago
[-] Dagwood222@lemm.ee 5 points 3 months ago

He wasn’t hiding his location in the slightest.

LPT for him. If you're doing crimes, hiding is a wonderful idea.

I learned that from Scooby-Doo

- Don't mess with meddling kids.

- Stoners and nerds rule.

[-] CuttingBoard@sopuli.xyz 1 points 3 months ago

They used the "enhance" command on his quicktime video

[-] KingThrillgore@lemmy.ml 28 points 3 months ago

Someone on /r/LivestreamFail said it best:

If it's actually true, this just demonstrates that the Tates are not as smart as they like to portray, the idea that you would trust this information to Adin, a guy who is a few IQ points above needing professional help to wipe, is an indictment on their intelligence.

[-] Daft_ish@lemmy.world 26 points 3 months ago

Being held in captivity is alpha as fuck.

Thank God I'm no alpha.

[-] glovecraft@infosec.pub 25 points 3 months ago

Guys, I have a private message from our cool older bro Andrew. It says... he's totally going to flee the Romaine. He's totally going to succeed too. Like who could stop him? Yeah, he's going to try to flee Rogaine. He told me last night. He sent me an email. It says he's going to try to flee punishment for his crimes. Guys, he sent me an email. How cool am I?

[-] MalachaiConstant@lemmy.world 21 points 3 months ago

Some context that makes this one of the funniest fucking things I've ever seen:

Adin Ross is a huge fan of Tate, to the point where he has funnelled himself into a shitty content niche trying to emulate him. He worships the guy.

He's also a well known moron who can't think before he speaks, which often lands him in hot water.

[-] Tyfud@lemmy.world 4 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

Just the 30 second clip of him talking was enough for me to realize he's truly an idiot underneath. Dude can't even read at beyond a basic level. He could barely read the text Andrew sent him out loud correctly.

And his followup comment to that was just to make noise and accomplish nothing.

So yeah, he seems like a complete moron.

Gotta be tearing him up inside that he's the one that caused that.

[-] yamanii@lemmy.world 5 points 3 months ago

The only good thing Aidin Ross did.

[-] LiveLM@lemmy.zip 2 points 3 months ago

Something tells me Adin will get Boeing'd not too long after Tate gets out of jail
