So wading in a cranberry bog is wading through a bunch of wolf spiders?

[–] Infynis@midwest.social 30 points 8 months ago (2 children)

Yes. Never become a big keeper if you're afraid of spiders. When the bog is flooded, and you wade in, they're looking for a place to go, and you're it

This is, honestly, one of the most horrific thoughts for me now. I would die. I would fuck right off this mortal coil. I would sink beneath the sour cranberry waves and drown, knowing the surface was spiderful, and there is no place there for me now. It belongs to the eight legged ones, and mankind's reign has ended.

Yep, giant big moving thing that is above water. Seems good enough for spiders. Also, wolf spiders are really good at jumping, I'm pretty sure

Not just at Thanksgiving, but all through the year, please remember in your considerations the endangered cranberry bog dolphin. Only accept dolphin safe cranberries.

Where is the rest of her story, i NEED to know what happens after frogs jump into cranberry bog

[–] Restaldt@lemm.ee 6 points 8 months ago

They end up resting on bumpy logs if my memory serves me

Um, Actually...

Not everyone floods their bog. In some regions, flooding is fairly uncommon with maybe 20% or less of farmers choosing to flood.

There are picker machines that harvest the berries straight from the ground. I knew someone whose machine ran on rails they'd installed throughout their bog but I'm not sure how common their exact setup was.

Best done at Cranberries's concert, first ask someone whether they want cranberries fact and give them this masterpiece of fact.
