Seriously. FUCK YOU. The fact that its 2023 and I can't watch whichever game I want, and give you money to do so, without having to buy some outdated archiac satellite provider or some overpriced bloated NFL package is insane. We should be able to buy any game a la carte for 9.99. But instead, once again, I'm just going to pirate any game that I want to watch that isn't being broadcast locally. Fuck You.

Yeah, I pay $20/month and get every single sports pass NBA, NHL, NFL, MLB, etc. everything. Every regional sports channel like all the ATT Sportsnets, Bally Sports, beIN, NBC Sports, etc. Every premium channel like HBO, Cinemax, Showtime, etc. Every PPV included at no extra costs. And every single other standard cable channel. I'm watching the Niners today. I can watch the games on the game pass channel or on dozens of local Fox affiliates. I love it, because sometimes if I don't like the announcers of one channel, I get different announcers on the local channels.

Full 1080 HD 60fps, and there has been some 4k too. And it has a full guide just like cable, and I can even schedule and record shows to my NAS.

Yeah so you’ve got quality piracy, nothing wrong with that I guess. Wouldn’t be necessary if nfl wasn’t assholes

Yeah, I have access to good sources that don't oversell and therefore have good quality without buffering. My favorite client is Tivimate (I paid for the lifetime license), but OTT Navigator is also pretty good, and Sparkle TV is good if you're after simplicity. But yeah, the quality depends on your IPTV sources so mileage will vary.

Sweet, thanks for the info! I’ve been thinking about signing up to one for a while now.

[–] somedaysoon@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago

No problem, if you end up not liking the one you sign up for, hit me up and I'll hook you up with an account from my sources. The reseller I use doesn't take new customers so I would have to make a sub account and send it to you. And as I pay in crypto, I'd need payment in crypto, but try yours first and see if you like it.

Living the dream!

[–] mysoulishome@lemmy.world 3 points 10 months ago

The only way to get every game for a single price/distribution method…unfortunately

[–] ArtVandelay@lemmy.world 21 points 10 months ago

High seas looking great in HD so far this year.

[–] rhacer@lemmy.world 10 points 10 months ago

The MLS really got this right with their AppleTV deal. 80 bucks and I can watch any game any time.

[–] JustZ@lemmy.world 6 points 10 months ago

The crown used to provide the games for free so the populace didn't get too uppity and overthrow their reign.

[–] Serinus@lemmy.ml 4 points 10 months ago

It's the biggest reason I've never gotten invested in traditional sports.

I'm not paying $100/year for something I'm barely interested in to not even be able to watch the games I want.

I just watch League of Legends. I can actually play the game, and it's free to watch with no blackouts.

[–] mctoasterson@reddthat.com 3 points 10 months ago

Antenna for local team and fuck everything else. I happen to have access to a Prime membership so I'll watch those Thursday games too, but if I didn't, oh well.

YT TV wasn't worth paying for the majority of the year. Having to play musical streaming services for the various sports leagues is extremely tiresome as well.

[–] radau@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 10 months ago (1 children)

IPTV working well so far for me, YouTube TV used to be decent but they jacked the prices up

[–] Daisyifyoudo@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago

I actually started messing around, for the first time, with iptv today. It was a little confusing at first, and a bit hard to navigate so not sure I'll pony up and buy a sub yet. There's a ton of free sites to stream just about any tv series or movie, and there's plenty of sports streaming sites (although they are far from problem free), so I dunno yet...

[–] SmellyHamWallet@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago

Try being a premier league fan. Where they're not allowed to show any 3pm kick offs on a Saturday afternoon....when the majority play.

I REALLY want to get into watching football, but it's so cost prohibitive. Can't afford to watch on TV and definitely can't afford to go see a single game in person

[–] Daisyifyoudo@lemmy.world 4 points 10 months ago

The cost from viewing games, to merchandise, to tickets is absolutely absurd. And the fact that tax payers shelter a good chunk if not most of the burden when stadiums are built is ridiculous. And these assholes still just can't make their games easily and readily available is just the icing on top of the greedy billionare cake.

[–] the_post_of_tom_joad@sh.itjust.works 2 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Football is free to watch though if you know where to go. I'm sure anyone here would happily dm you a link if you wanted one. I sure would. Do you not like the quality of the free streams?

[–] BleatingZombie@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago

Yes, please. I find them once, but couldn't do it again (I think a sidebar on reddit got changed a while back)

[–] mysoulishome@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago
[–] conciselyverbose@kbin.social 1 points 10 months ago

I got Sunday ticket.

It doesn't let you pick 4 games on multi-screen. It gives you lists of combinations.🤷🏼‍♀️

[–] mouth_brood@lemmy.one 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Google NFL streams. That may help with your issue

[–] Daisyifyoudo@lemmy.world 4 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago) (1 children)

I feel like I'm aware of most of the streams. But they are still laden with issues. Whether its buffering, or forced take downs, or less than 4k resolution. I watched my team earlier, and it wasn't horrible- think I only had to switch streams once and the buffering was mostly a non-issue. But I'd still rather pay ten bucks or so for the best quality and have zero issues. That's why the NFL can go fuck itself.

[–] mouth_brood@lemmy.one 2 points 10 months ago

Hey, I agree. Make it affordable and accessible and people will pay for it. However, that's not the case so we are forced to find alternatives

[–] Hiccup@lemmy.dbzer0.com -2 points 10 months ago

I gave up watching the NFL. It just wasn't fun. Plus, I wasn't forced into the ridiculous fantasy league that I didn't even like.
