Iirc the og one wasthe dog actually saying he's fine, even as his face melted away. Can't remember what the original joke was but i recall this comic (Gunshow) gets pretty dark as a rule. It wasn't until after it became a meme he updated it with the dog freaking the fuck out. Again this is just my old memory talking, i haven't read Gunshow in a long time so feel free to correct me
