Grizzly bears will be reintroduced to North Cascades National Park, federal officials announced Thursday.

Wildlife biologists plan to airlift three to seven bears each summer into the rugged wilderness northeast of Seattle from healthy populations in Montana, Wyoming, and British Columbia. The goal is to build an initial population of 25 bears after a decade, growing to 200 bears by the end of the century.

Friendly reminder- they really are as cute and fluffy as they look. But they’re not cuddly and don’t like people taking selfies with them. Admire the cute floofers from a distance or they’ll maul you into an anecdote.

The late Troy Hurtubise built himself what was essentially an Iron Man suit just so he could safely approach a grizzly bear.

There’s a reason no one was interested in buying that suit.

He also tried to make a combat suit. I still giggle about putting the compass on the codpiece

Oh and let’s not forget about “angel light”…. A beam of light that could make things transparent/invisible

I think the reason was that it didn't have any practical value. And his other armor also didn't have practical value. But it seemed to work with the grizzly.

It, eh, was never actually tested against bears.

(Also there wasn’t anyone needing a freaking expensive bear suit.)

Angel light, though… was pure quackery.

I thought he went to a bear cave wearing it?
