Is it racist to have an opinion on the brainwashing by a religion and the utter dolts who practise it? Religionist? It's racist until it happens to you and you're outnumbered by these people who think they control the cities they inhabit, in some, forcing women of all races to wear scarves or face verbal / physical / sexual abuse from Pakistani men, Pakistani women looking you up and down then telling you in your country that you can't get in the lift with them because you're white, days can go by where hearing English on the street is the exception, hearing Arabic prayers played daily on loudspeakers in the town centre, workers employed in public-facing roles in England unable to speak any English, only Arabic and have to call over someone else to communicate with you?

Is this AI generated and posted by a bot to encourage anti-muslim messages? e.g. no footprints from the sandals to the water, or anywhere else on the sand...

This is an opinion. You're not allowed to have one and will be downvoted for it because the down-voters think doing it makes them a good person. /s

Of course! Next step, guns, military use, pew pew lasers etc. I want to see those "dogs" loaded with a kit, hunting and destroying each other.

Sure, but it wasn't really possible to code the stuff they wanted to at that time.

Does our brain follow manually coded instructions?

You probably had no idea the field even exists two years ago

MFW was using it ten years ago.

"AI" has existed since the 70s in terms of computing. In terms of the theory, much further back.

I'm in the UK and looking to switch over to a UK host provider. Can anyone recommend IONOS for the uk? I'm considering a fairly low-spec VPS. Even with VAT, their prices will be about 3/4 of what I'm currently paying.

Can anyone recommend decent UK hosting, VPS. 2 GB RAM, single core will be fine 30+GB storage, and PCI-DSS compliant for future business needs. Free backups would be a bonus!

Yes, it's expensive. Yes, it looks weird, yes they've spent millions on researching optimum keyboard layout to reduce RSI, but my goodness, once you get over the 'eugh' of using it from muscle memory, I can guarantee it will be worth the cost. I love mine and there's a huge hacker community for it who modify it further.

Undoubtedly, programmers are a major user of keyboards, and IDE developers love function keys for esoteric shortcuts for debugging, moving around, and running code. So why do so many split keyboards not actually have the function keys.

I think makers are missing out a huge audience.

What are the regular things you tend to buy from aliexpress? Or maybe you haven't started yet and are thinking about your first purchase?

So I have an aging DellM4800 15.6" laptop. It's actually built to last, upgradeable MXM A GPU, replaceable battery, professional keyboard, good build quality, easy to get to parts, and has a great matt screen. I use it as a portable laptop, rather than a mobile desktop unit.

Still, Somehow the hinge on one side has become warped. I have no clear idea but suspect that from where it used to be on my lap, the rear fans blew its heat onto it. Or maybe it took a knock somewhere. This would be quite a knock.

Anyway, the plastic cracked and broke off due to the warped metal, and the one side feels a bit, loose and wobbly. It opens fine-ish and just makes a clicking sound each time its opened.

Are there usually generic metal hinges for laptop screens or are they unique to each device? I don't particularly want to have to buy a whole new screen or worse, a new case just for hinges for one side. The missing plastic is small and I can deal with it, but would like to get this one side feeling as solid as the rest of the case.

It got 100,000 signatures in its first 11 days. I know quite a few of people on the fediverse are fed up of seeing bot posts about violence against musk cars to distract people from the real problems, so do something that will make a change. But you'll also need to help others who feel the same and who aren't around here.

The first time around, there were millions of signatures on the petition so you'll need to help spread the word about the website. Tell your neighbourhood, your friends and family, work colleagues, and if you're out and hear people moaning, tell them about it.

Maybe someone can make a separate post to brainstorm ideas? The instance I'm currently on has very few political channels, so maybe you can re-post this elsewhere.

It's awesome and I think most of you are going to appreciate it! Fallout 1+. You can choose just one radio station or mix them all together!

I have a community-based website and I'd like to add a text and video-chat feature to it. I'd like it to be text-first and video second, so you don't have to be streaming to be in the room and for the main part, to be text. Everything I find is video-only. I can host the video streaming data myself.

Is there some project that the opensource world is missing that you think it needs?
