Yes, it never crashes anymore at all for me. Lots of work went into stability and bug fixes in plasma version 6.

So please don't try it on Debian stable or something. Use the latest version!

It's really stunning these days, super professional and clean, and really good themes actually too.

I really like being able to disable the mute-sound button on the task icons, since I sometimes misclick on them during meetings... And once I had apparently done that and turned off the sound for slack, so my huddle didn't have any sound. Took me like 15 mins to find the reason since I thought it had to do with pulseaudio...

What is smart.... I mean, most of us Lemmy tech people are good at computers but completely useless and may even despise other activities such as dancing, singing, acting, psychology, and so on.

Never forget that the school system evaluates how good of a worker you can be, not how good of a human you can be. The entire system is just built for economic growth, not your happiness. In fact, you consume more when you are feeling like shit.

A bit of a side note, I know, but it's all connected to a bigger picture, so...

A lot of damaged people in the world. We are probably all damaged, honestly. But some more than others.

I'm even more impressed by aircraft carriers. Just one of those things weigh as much as 250 fully loaded Boeing 747s. And it just floats. :)

I think I was misunderstood, so it's funny to watch the reactions. :) Yes I know there are female spies. They are highly effective, more so than male spies since they have the ability to attract men. It is very common to use female spies for any sort of information gathering from men. It's so easy.

Very true but trying to change this attitude....no fun being home all the time.

Around 9 years old. Could be some 11 year olds in there.

Of course I trust you, stranger. :)

Judging by the downvotes, it's a sensitive thing to joke about on Lemmy, lol.

I was just thinking, when watching the picture, it's sad that these images are often not real anymore, and instead are AI generated. Really feels like they are missing the true feeling and just imitating it.

This is so strange to me. I guess people enjoy being ripped off and getting less and less value for their money.

Quite a controversial decision.... I love Kagi though, but I don't understand why they would want to drag Brave into this.

I liked this article. It was a weird feeling to read it because I felt like it would be quite nice if humans disappeared from the planet...

At the same time I'm happy to be here, enjoying all the tech we have and the tools we have, the food we eat.

I still think humans can live in harmony with nature but we don't have any good leaders to take civilization in that direction. So in the end, we will probably perish because we fought over power and money until there was nothing left.

It feels like the new update is slower than before. Anyone else noticed this?

Could be temporary maybe, or something that will be fixed in a update.

But i get timeouts loading pages even, and that never ever happened before.

This could be promising!

This one looks pretty damn good if you are into the look Windows 7 had.

Sorry to link to YouTube for this, but it's just such a great example of actual humor from the decades where it was allowed to joke about it.

Instead, the Android team aims to focus on the Android WebView Media Integrity API, which provides a similar form of attestation but only for WebViews embedded in Android apps.

So this is their backup solution to get android users used to WEI and then introduce it again for the desktop later down the road....

Hi, do you have a minute? I would like to talk about https://kagi.com as the solution to all your problems.

Google will always try to squeeze more and more ads into your life, just like Microsoft and all the other big tech shitfarms.

While Kagi uses some Google search results, they are avoiding most of the SEO crap you get in Google while also giving you the option to completely remove or prioritize whatever sites you want in the search results.

It really makes the web feel very fresh again because you discover sites you never see on Google or Bing.

151 reviews and its already on Mostly Negative on launch day. :/

Everyone already knows the performance is terrible, so I'll just share my experience so you have a further example to compare to. I have a 13900k, 64gb of ram, and a RTX 4090, playing on a 1440p ultrawide monitor. I got 35 fps at the main menu and in game on a brand new map w/o building a single thing. Turning off motion blur and depth field increased this from 35 to 50 fps.

Not a single other graphics setting changed the performance at all. I turned off every single setting I could or set it to the lowest possible, and still only got 50 fps.

This is impressively bad optimization, I actually can't recall another game recently where changing the graphics settings literally did nothing to fps. Just stay away from this until they fix it.

Cities: Skylines 2 review (www.pcgamer.com)

What have they done to the game?

As my city slowly filled up with buildings and residents, it also began to feel a bit empty—especially when compared to the original game which has been fed with dozens of DLC packs over the past seven years. With a mere 20,000 citizens and the designation of "Small City," the milestones had already run out of new features to unlock. There are only three different tourist attractions to build, and while there are several sports parks they're all small, the sort you might find in an average-sized town. Skylines 2 has nothing like the huge gleaming sports stadium from the first game that feels suited for a major city.

Zooming in close to spy on my city revealed a few other disappointing changes. In the original game it was fun to watch city services at work: firemen would race to a fire, get out of their trucks, and hose down the burning buildings with wee little hoses. Adorable and live-saving! For those less fortunate citizens, coroners would drive up to a house and then wheel out a sad little body bag to their hearse before heading for the cemetery. I was disappointed to see that in Skylines 2, fire engines and hearses pull up to the buildings they're servicing but there's none of those wonderful little animations. A moment later the fire simply goes out or the deceased citizen is teleported to the hearse, and the vehicle departs. Bummer.

Really seems like they made a worse game than the first one....
