Why do people want to ask complete strangers instead of making their own decision?

That must mean that they value the opinion of total strangers more then their own. Isnt that a mindfuck.

My life is good, so...

Those estimates cant take into account new technology or developments that will happen during 25 years.

We will be alright. If we dont die in wars started by our dear so called "leaders".

Nobody knows the future, least of all some "study".

New people will be born, new technology will exist, new goals will be set.

I also think we are moving towards a bad future with no freedom and lots of censorship, with Ai, robots and implants, probably also world government and corruption.

I dont think the weather is going to be our worst problem. Its going to be ourselves.

Haha nice theory. :)

He can reverse it after the next round of golf. This is Trump.

And then you are fired if that sales guy is actually running the show. Politics...

Yes, since the problem is the motivation right now. Human beings are not robots, and when they are treated like that, things dont end well.

I think at some point, people have to stop working so hard and say "this is not fair, and we have reached our limit now".

We havent always been in end game capitalism mode. Its now in the last few decades that its very obvious that workers are not treated the way they should as human beings. If you view people as expendable resources, you dont deserve to have them working for you.

But sure, I can see the other side of this. Workers are paid and should work to the best of their capacity. But there is another dimension here when work turns into misery and the worker cant quit because he wont survive without a paycheck. Once you have created a society like that, you have endless misery for workers and they should stop working to create a forced change in society.

In Europe, people fought very hard for their five week vacations. Because of that fight, workers still enjoy that even today. It doesnt come without a fight.

He posted on his Truth Social platform early on Sunday, adding: “GREAT PROGRESS MADE!!!” He did not elaborate on the progress.

LOL, typical Trump. :)

This could be promising!

This one looks pretty damn good if you are into the look Windows 7 had.

Sorry to link to YouTube for this, but it's just such a great example of actual humor from the decades where it was allowed to joke about it.

Instead, the Android team aims to focus on the Android WebView Media Integrity API, which provides a similar form of attestation but only for WebViews embedded in Android apps.

So this is their backup solution to get android users used to WEI and then introduce it again for the desktop later down the road....

Hi, do you have a minute? I would like to talk about https://kagi.com as the solution to all your problems.

Google will always try to squeeze more and more ads into your life, just like Microsoft and all the other big tech shitfarms.

While Kagi uses some Google search results, they are avoiding most of the SEO crap you get in Google while also giving you the option to completely remove or prioritize whatever sites you want in the search results.

It really makes the web feel very fresh again because you discover sites you never see on Google or Bing.

151 reviews and its already on Mostly Negative on launch day. :/

Everyone already knows the performance is terrible, so I'll just share my experience so you have a further example to compare to. I have a 13900k, 64gb of ram, and a RTX 4090, playing on a 1440p ultrawide monitor. I got 35 fps at the main menu and in game on a brand new map w/o building a single thing. Turning off motion blur and depth field increased this from 35 to 50 fps.

Not a single other graphics setting changed the performance at all. I turned off every single setting I could or set it to the lowest possible, and still only got 50 fps.

This is impressively bad optimization, I actually can't recall another game recently where changing the graphics settings literally did nothing to fps. Just stay away from this until they fix it.

Cities: Skylines 2 review (www.pcgamer.com)

What have they done to the game?

As my city slowly filled up with buildings and residents, it also began to feel a bit empty—especially when compared to the original game which has been fed with dozens of DLC packs over the past seven years. With a mere 20,000 citizens and the designation of "Small City," the milestones had already run out of new features to unlock. There are only three different tourist attractions to build, and while there are several sports parks they're all small, the sort you might find in an average-sized town. Skylines 2 has nothing like the huge gleaming sports stadium from the first game that feels suited for a major city.

Zooming in close to spy on my city revealed a few other disappointing changes. In the original game it was fun to watch city services at work: firemen would race to a fire, get out of their trucks, and hose down the burning buildings with wee little hoses. Adorable and live-saving! For those less fortunate citizens, coroners would drive up to a house and then wheel out a sad little body bag to their hearse before heading for the cemetery. I was disappointed to see that in Skylines 2, fire engines and hearses pull up to the buildings they're servicing but there's none of those wonderful little animations. A moment later the fire simply goes out or the deceased citizen is teleported to the hearse, and the vehicle departs. Bummer.

Really seems like they made a worse game than the first one....

This is over 10 years old but more relevant than ever. :)

This can't be true. Has the rest of social media becomes such a toxic wastelands that teens now think linkedin is a good place to be?

I think linkedin is the most cringe place on the web, hands down.
