I came here to say this. Fwiw, mine are at least 5 yrs old. I do farm work, yard work, a lot of chainsaw/tree cutting work with them.

The flex version is better than the non flex. Pay attention to the style so you get the pocket/loop configuration you want.

Go try on more boots.. there are hundreds of styles. Go to a place that has lots and knowledgeable people to help you. And don't tie them so tightly.

I do. It means peace and quiet. It means a reasonable price for housing. It means learning some skills to maintain your place yourself. It means being more self-sufficient. It means you have to plan ahead because shopping is a 1x a week event, not a daily thing.

It also means people visit less and either are amazed at how much you have "out here," or are astounded you can live "out here."
