Sorry tankies, but I'm voting for Papa Palpatine. I may not support all of his policies, but it's either him or General Grievous. The genocide will be a lot bigger if the separatists win. Anyone who opposes Palpatine is obviously funded by Count Dooku.

Also, I find it funny how he completely absolves America's role in all of this. This piece is written as if us Russians are all Asiatic hordes that want to destroy the West because they have shiny new technology that our Slavic brainpans are to primitive to create.

Kotkin is one of the very few liberal historians who doesn't completely regurgitate batshit insane takes about the Soviet Union from the Cold War era (For instance he acknowledges that Lenin's testament was a hoax).

However, his takes on politics are so utterly naïve that one might think he's some kind of Harvard MBA failson rather than an actual historian. I remember during a conversation a couple of years ago where he basically states that America will win the new Cold War because they have the capability of "self correction" that China does not. Because choosing between two demented racists in an election is apparently "self correction". This article is more of the same. The Russia-Chinese vassal theory is literally believed by no one and is ludicrous when you consider that America literally controls Europe's foreign policy. Everything else sounds like it came from redditors in early 2022.

I'm not religious at all. But seeing decaying husks like Lindsey Graham and his ilk go to Ukraine and demand that 18 year old's be drafted and sent to die in the trenches for the Empire's proxy wars genuinely makes me want to believe in some kind of Biblical eternal torment.

I was watching some clips from the 2016 election period and I'm genuinely baffled by how anyone could stand listening to her voice. Hillary is so utterly insufferably uncharismatic and is a husk of a human being. My 2016 self was probably still too much into my lib phase to really notice. At least Biden has that senile grampa persona and Obama is a faux progressive.

You would think that after 2 years, someone at the Institute for Strategic Cope would wizen up and realize that making comical claims about Russia's casualties will eventually stop being effective. If Ukraine really only took 31,000 casualties, they wouldn't need to mobilize 400,000 more people for the meat grinder. If Russia took the comical level of casualties that they say they did, then would would see every Russian male kidnapped on video to be sent for war. At this point I can't tell if they are all failsons who fall for their own propaganda or if they are trying to convince dumbass liberals to clap like seals for Biden.

Question, but how could Hitler to turn east towards the USSR if Poland is in the way? Unless they expected the Poles and Nazis to collaborate? or did they believe he wouldn't invade France and do the USSR next? Is there any evidence of this?
