I don't have data, you don't have data. All we know is that lots of cities choose electric/hybrid buses while no cities choose trolleys. If you think it's because everyone working in the public transport departments is stupid and only some youtuber is super smart that's fine. I'm sceptical.

Sorry, I though it's the people that elect presidents in elections. My bad.

They didn't do it because productivity. They did it because real estate prices. Also they like to watch people work.

Yes, I know people will not die without a car. It's just more convenient. Is this really so hard to understand? I could spend hours hitchhiking and literally hiking every time I'm going climbing in the middle of nowhere (which is every week) but it's more convenient to drive. I wouldn't die if I stopped climbing but I like it. So yeah, I own a car.

Show me a town that recently switched to trolleys and done a cost/benefit analysis after couple of years that confirms they saved money and I will absolutely agree with you.

Yes, car is a luxury. It let's you go anywhere they want when they want. People could do just fine without cars if only they limited themselves to daily commutes instead of going hiking, shopping or to that nice restaurant just out of town. It would also be cheaper not to do any of that. But people like comfort of driving so they buy cars and once they have a car they use it to go places. And once they have a car it's cheaper than train. We agree.

I know, people are not willing to comprises for the good of the planet. That's why we're so fucked.

What if the pigeon has a gun?

I’m pretty sure we’re just fucked until they all move out or pass on.

Most young people that support multi-use housing today will stop supporting it by the time they retire. It's not the today's old people that are against everything, it's all old people. The next generation will not be different.

Don't have kids, save for your retirement.

Sorry but youtube experts and their google research are not a reliable source of information for me. It's entertaining but it's the last thing I would base city planning on.
