I would argue that Spain was even worse post-empire but it doubt the UK has hit rock bottom yet

I feel like he's the best possible version of a DSA social democrat. He's also really good at cable news interviews in a way that you almost never see. His ideology and demeanor actually reminds me a lot of Michael Brooks who had also planned on running for office in New York, and Brooks was fundamental in my radicalization

How are you going to convince hundreds of communists in New York to do entryism in the fucking NYPD?

fuck Bernie

Obligatory for reasons of theory, but let's not pretend we all wouldn't have felt warm and fuzzy inside the day he won

Shit, I'm not watching this for the old man, I'm here for the crowd. That "no more war" chant was from the heart, one of the most full chested chants I've ever heard. That gives me hope for the future

They should have gone all the way and named the movie Justin Time

The difference is, Trump doesn't want an invasion, he just doesn't want to look "weak". The war in Iran is more likely to unfold like the Vietnam war- a colonial power bites off more than it can chew so the US steps in to help them, slowly at first, and then after a few years it and a gulf of tonkin later the US is fully committed and kids are out on the street burning their draft cards.

The good news is, it means that there will be a lag between the time the war kicks of and the time America is prepared to fight it effectively. A lot can happen in that time, and the public support for invading Iran is already WAY smaller than the support for invading Iraq, and Americans haven't even started dying yet. This feels like the tsar picking a fight with Japan. It will radicalize a lot of people

Most of these are pre-presidency

You go and talk to people to find people who might join your org, make connections between orgs, etc. But on the whole, these protests are absolutely not productive

Speaking in terms of the popular response

Earnest question here. I got offered a job with public works inventory management for a city. I thought it would be limited to just public works, but it also includes inventory for the police fleet. Part of applying was to salt for the municipal workers union. Would doing inventory management partially for cop cars make me a pig?

What's the most you ever lost in an election? You need to call it. I can't call it for you. It wouldn't be fair. It wouldn't even be right. You've been putting it up a coconut tree your entire life, you just didn't know it. You stand to win everything, unburdened by what has been. Do not come in your pocket. Otherwise it will become just another election. Which it is.
