I hate this idea that it's so easy to get disability benefits you can just fake it

This is 100% what radicalized me. My first job out of college was in Mental Health and I ended up working with several clients on SSI/SSDI or applying for it. Its absolutely inhumane how many hoops they make people jump through. How you still have to use your tiny amount of monthly money to pay for section 8. The exhaustion and depression this brought my clients pained me immensely. I take disability so much more seriously now. I understand how awful chronic pain can be, even if it doesn't present visibly to others. I genuinely hope you get what you need for your case. We will tear down these systems one day, but until then I sincerely hope things are manageable for you

Dirk really doesn't have a comparison on the Pacers team. The offense ran through him every play he was on the floor. Siakam is more like Rip Hamilton on the Carlisle Pistons.

Rick Carlisle really cementing himself as a top 10-15 all time head coach. I think hes top 10 if he wins the series

“Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.”

It looks like the emergency wind turbine was deployed, which only comes out if there is a total electrical failure. Mind you, one of the Boeing whistleblowers main claims is shoddy electrical work.

It was actually for capitalism (cheap global trade) and would have obviously fucked up Palestine and Palestinians, but its still kinda funny 💣

Even though the US found the largest lithium deposit of all time last year (on goverment land) they created a hurricane to mine lithium on stolen land in remote Appalachia

Happy Bicycle Day! (psychedelicwater.com)

April 19th might just seem like another day for casual bike enthusiasts, but there's a twist. Instead of merely honoring your average two-wheeled joyrides, Bicycle Day tips its hat to a psychedelic voyage of epic proportions.

Forget what you thought you knew about this pseudo-holiday, because it's not just about cycling. We're here to shine a light on the fateful day in 1943 when Albert Hofmann, Swiss chemist and LSD creator, treated himself to a mind-altering bicycle ride. You heard that right—our guy Albert inadvertently discovered the mind-expanding properties of LSD while cycling around Basel, Switzerland.

According to Rolling Stone, Hofmann chose the iconic time of 4:20 p.m. on April 19th to dose himself. What ensued was a trip (pun fully intended) through a kaleidoscope of “fantastic images,” as Hofmann later detailed in his memoir, LSD: My Problem Child. He rode six miles that day, but the experience was more about the journey than the destination.
