That's so weird, I always thought I was crossing my eyes when doing this...

Nah it's just if-then-elses all the way down

Tap for spoilerExcept for some reason "2" is interpreted as a month, and the year is set to 2001.

I'm dead 😭 (and it just gets better from there)

I remember doing half to full day interviews back in the '00s.

This isn't new.

Hmm, should give it a kiss?

Damn, I shouldn't have cut the leads.

The point is how arrogant this comic is. There are as many artists using AI as there are programmers. And acting like all programmers are just accepting it to send themselves "to the bread line" and that artists are somehow above that is arrogant, elitist, bullshit.

[–] JohnnyCanuck@lemmy.ca 12 points 3 days ago (6 children)

You won't get that from artists

Bullshit. That's so fucking elitist. Go ask all the people using midjourney to generate slop if they're artists. They're artists as much as vibe coders are programmers.

Kinda wish I had social media right now so I could tell DevilsPanties to go fuck themselves.

CEOs are demanding that programmers use AI, and measuring how much they use it. If they don't use it enough, they're in the next round of layoffs. Vibe coders are people who don't know how to code, and probably aren't working for a corp.

Seriously, attacking the workers? Motherfuckers.

$3.5M to be spent on bylaw and police enforcement

The announcement comes on the heels of a number of violent incidents across the city within a 12-hour period on Sunday.

Police said in a statement on Monday that a business owner was assaulted by a man unknown to him around 6 p.m. on Yates Street.

A man was arrested shortly after the attack and taken into custody by Victoria police but was later released on conditions, police said in the statement.

On Sunday morning, a man with a weapon threatened the Victoria Fire Department building on Queens Avenue, preventing the firefighters from entering the building to attend to a potential fire. He was subsequently arrested, police said.

Another "stranger-on-stranger attack" on Yates Street Sunday involved a man who assaulted a victim with an "edged weapon," Victoria Police Chief Del Manak said.

The victim "ran into London Drugs to seek refuge for their safety," Manak said, and the alleged attacker was subsequently arrested and was held in custody pending a court hearing.

Thumbnail click gives this and doesn't play:

This has been happening for a little while now (days? weeks?) but I haven't tried narrowing down specifics. I'll update if I find non-i.imgur.com posts with the same issue.

Edit to add: Android, I think Edge is the embedded browser.

League ‘hopeful’ to add 2nd expansion team ahead of next season

The Professional Women's Hockey League will expand to Vancouver and begin play next season, the league announced on Wednesday.

The decision to expand to Vancouver had been rumoured for weeks, and was finally confirmed at a press conference in downtown Vancouver on Wednesday morning. The official announcement was made by a local under-11 girls' hockey team. The girls crowded around a podium, waving signs to show how badly they wanted Vancouver to get a PWHL team, before announcing the news.

Vancouver was chosen as the seventh PWHL franchise after an eight-month process that saw expansion bids from groups in more than 20 cities.

A deeper look into Canada's long-standing high tariffs on certain US imports and why they don't actually apply to most current trade.

"If the countries took a true approach to reciprocating tariffs, then the US would simply copy Canada's tariff quota, which would mean that neither country would pay any more based on current trade balances"

Nothing says "classy" like flying that flag.

Good L🍁ck Trudeau! (But also, don't let the door hit you on the way out...)
