Next week it is then!
37 was one of my better years. I had disposable income to go do whatever stupid hijinks I could think of. I did start seeing less of my friends who had started families. But I also switched jobs to do new interesting things. We did lots of concerts, community events, I took photography classes. It was great. I enjoyed my thirties.
My forties have been very rough though. And that could just be from coincidence of life events happening. I'm actually looking forward to 50. I am hoping my 50s are like my 30s, just a tad slower. And my friends are coming back on the radar as their kids are leaving for college.
I used to get somewhat concerned about the remaining time I have left, but I must have somehow come to terms with it. I look back on the last 25 years and think of all that has happened. It feels like both just yesterday and "damn, that was forever ago". The next 25 may feel just as long and be just as full. I'm ok with that. I'm just trying to enjoy the ride.
I truly appreciate devotion to authenticity.
Small technical correction:
To DEcrease withholdings (the dollars shown on the Fed line of your paystub)
One must INcrease exemptions claimed on Form W-4
But the rest is correct. If you underwithhold/underpay you risk penalties come April.
However, if you try to claim so many exemptions as to get to zero federal withholdings, employers are required to second-guess you and make you document the exemptions you are claiming (not all will do this but they're required to nonetheless). But if you go to very little federal withholding, just not zero, employers generally don't give a shit and will just make the payroll adjustments accordingly.

Yeah me too but such is not always possible in some cities. Or for some budgets.
When they close the office for the night. I've run across this with small hotels, b&bs. But sometimes they also can make arrangements if I tell them I am arriving late. Always ask!
Found this little eastern worm snake adrift at "sea" on my pool thermometer and airlifted it to shore. It must have entered ~~fight, flight, or~~ freeze mode, poor thing, because it was a good 10 minutes before it departed its makeshift raft.
PS, I do have escape platforms for critters in the pool but the dumdums never seem to use them. Then again, I'm obviously not getting to meet the ones that did find and use them.
PPS, I can't get over how teeny this little one is! I'm experiencing some acute cute aggression!
I done fucked up. I know some of my drink cups say handwash only, but I thought that was due to their vacuum chambers.
I assumed (wrongly) that these two bottles would be ok. They are clearly not made from whatever Nalgene is made from.
Meanwhile, I have some cheap vacuum wall plastic tumblers from Walmart, going on 15 years now, that I've always tossed in the dishwasher.
Also, I'm getting strong deja vu from my shrinky dink bottles. Have I done this before? Or seen a post on here if the same? I can't recall.
Edit: hello adhd brain, I forgot to provide details. Red 1L Nalgene for scale. The two bottles beside it used to be the same size before yesterday. ☹️
Going on about 2 hours now. My forearm is keeping her rump from rolling off the pillow. I can't feel my fingers. My diet coke is just out of reach. I want to play some Oblivion but she says I can't have my arm back yet.
