Did you even read my post before responding to it? It's hard to have a discussion when all you do is regurgitate delusional Hasbara talking points.

All death tolls require a level of trust. We should not trust Hamas numbers blindly. But we can look at their history- Hamas have been releasing death counts from conflicts since at least 2008. After those conflicts subsided, the UN inspectors came in to question and confirm the Hamas numbers.

Hamas has literally received the gold-standard approval from the UN, time and time again, for the methodology and accuracy of their death counts.

The official Hamas number only includes bodies that have been bagged and tagged. This requires 1) a full or partial body able to be positively identified and 2) a functioning healthcare system able to do the identification.

Do you ever wonder why the official Hamas death toll has been stuck at around 30k for many months now, despite the near-daily massacres of 50, 100, or even 200 Palestinians at a time?

I think the idea is not that white women are "more special", but instead that they are more powerful in a racist society.

In this situation, a white woman cried racism, and bystanders and staff believed her. Do you think bystanders would consistently give that same level of trust and support if it were a black or brown woman instead?

Gov. Fascism on Wheels giving $2k government handouts to a bunch of migrants lmao.

It would be actually funny, but these desperate people are being treated like subhuman political pawns.

It seems like the entire immigration system keeps getting more cruel over the years. And now Dems are pushing a far-right immigration bill, and Trump is advocating for a final solution for 12 million people.

Ok sure, let me clarify.

Successful presidential candidate Trump has been telling rambling, near-incoherent stories since at least 2015. This type of unfiltered ranting based on reactionary grievances has earned him many followers and many detractors.

Unsuccessful presidential candidate Trump sounded much more like a run of the mill politician back in 2000, before he became a reality tv show star.

He has always told rambling, near-incoherent stories. He has always lied profusely.

What's new is how hes slurring his words, and how lethargic he is. It was especially noticable in his recent performance on the Lex Fridman show podcast.

The early signs of dementia are unavoidable at this point. It might only be a matter of time until Trump has his "We finally beat Medicare" moment.

"Media Bias Fact Check" is just some right winger in his basement.

The goal of Media Bias Fact Check isn't to reveal hidden bias and create better-informed news readers. The goal is to shift the Overton Window to the right.

They would call the leader of the israeli state and threaten to stop shipping weapons. Just like it was done multiple times in the past.

When Reagan and HW Bush made this phone call, the wars ended overnight. Why wouldnt it work for Biden/Kamala?

Thanks for the thoughtful response, but the follow up question is obvious: why only 20 per year?

There are over 19,000 FDA approved drugs, and 50 more are added each year. It's going to take a couple hundred years to catch up at this rate.

Even if your cartoonish depiction of the Taliban was true, it is not a good justification for the US to freeze all of the bank accounts in Afghanistan.

[–] Krono 9 points 3 months ago (6 children)

It's weird that you would assume something incorrect like that, when you can just google it and find that the money was

the reserves of Afghanistan’s commercial banks and ordinary people’s savings

It's literally the business and personal savings of the Afghani people, inaccessible to them for over 2 years now.
