Standard Notes, Firefox, novelWriter are the ones I rely on the most for my daily needs.

That annoyed me with Windows too, however, Active Hours adjusted to the times that I actively used my PC. As I kept my PC up to date and never kept it running while not in use for too long, I've never been threatened with a forced restart randomly. That being said, a user should have full control over their PC. They will though in turn be responsible for any poor outcomes due to making poor decisions.

I ended up choosing a Linux distro over Windows because I have absolute control over my PC at all times. Freedom to modify, to potentially break, but also easily recover my distro if I truly fuck up.

I haven't specifically seen anyone go off the rails when it comes to emoji usage on Lemmy; I can only comment on my particular feelings about emoji: Like any tool, emoji can be used in ways which are confusing. However, the value of these little images conveying additional context to written text is useful. There is so much of the personal voice which is lost with written words, unadorned with body language, tone of voice, and facial expressions. Emoji are like a written solution to this issue (for those that don't pick up on context on words alone). I am fine with the usage of emoji.

I played The Outer Worlds; it was great story wise. Iโ€™m merely worried as delays have often been a sign that a game is flawed and needs a lot of work that will happen after launch.

Iโ€™m most excited for Avowed, but it could end up being a stinker (unless the delay actually helps the game). The Fable trailer didnโ€™t do enough to get me particularly interested in it.

Cold fried chicken alone is not my preferred way of eating it; I love to use it in a salad! As it hits the spot only then for me, otherwise I gently reheat before eating. Cold pizza, that rates way higher for me.

I do agree that motion capture and voice actors should be given a heads-up about the scene they are about to shoot. Nobody should be asked on the spot to 'perform' a disturbing or explicit scene without first at least being able to make mental preparations! It would certainly help to have some more ladies assisting in the capture to make it less awkward for a woman acting/voicing such a scene.

Busy, a few days ago I had a boss battle phone call with Merrill Lynch to unlock my account, and it turned out I was using the wrong website (the associate on the other end pointed out they had too many). This was a necessary part of a process to fill out paperwork and provide documents for the written stuff. Today, I've got an appointment in the afternoon. A game called SunnySide that I backed on Backerit will be releasing on console tomorrow; I will be glued to my Xbox Series S for quite a while. Saturday, I've got dinner with friends at a new brewery. Thankfully, this is not the bad kind of busy.

Oof, yeah, Death By Appointment might be a better name as I couldn't see them offering on the spot meat suit evacuation! It's a process to get approval for getting a humane end to one's medical suffering. They'd likely be too swamped to do it any other way.

The one on the right appeals to me more! Iโ€™d be so happy, personally.

Iโ€™m excited to play this game on my Xbox, Iโ€™ve watched a few videos on Shadows of Doubt! The mysteries feel so organic and interconnected; as the game seems to weave a large web of intrigue the longer you play.

I don't mind the changes they are proposing for the Photos app; the current version annoys me as there is no way to sort photos by recent to older. For whatever reason, the oldest photos are on top while the most recent are in the bottom. It drives me mad, at the very least a proper chronological sorting option is very much appreciated. Everything else, I can adjust, since I don't have a strong Apple Muscle Memory.
