I want to point out that by downvoting this, you're reducing the visibility of the post for other people, therefore making less people informed of the change.

Thanks for using your brain and recognising that generative AI has its benefits, unlike a lot of people here on Lemmy. "hurr durr AI bad". I mean, OP is using AI to have fun with his family and the commenters come in and shit on that? Please touch grass, Lemmy.

Christmas is about celebrating the commemorating the birth of Christ. Gift-giving is related to the holiday of St. Nicholas (6th December). Santa Claus is a pagan accretion.

Get an e-reader. I used to read EPUBs on my phone or PC and I also suffered from headaches. I can read on my Kobo (with KOReader ofc) for hours with no issues.

Getting back into Kafka by reading Amerika. It's a funny book. Highly recommend.

Čuo sam dobrog, čuo sam lošeg i još lošijeg o njima. Recite me sve šta ste čuli o njima i još bolje ako imate iskustva.

I just finished the kerygmatic phase and on Monday I gotta decide whether I wanna continue in the Way. Any thoughts on them?

Hi all,

I'm currently using Zorin OS, but I'd like to perhaps explore other Linux distributions. Is it possible to dual-boot another distro, and then if I'm satisfied and after having installed all the apps I need, to erase my Zorin OS partition and only use the other, new distro?

Every time I post something in any Christian/Catholic community on any other community (specifically lemmy.world), my posts get downvoted beyond reason. Does anyone know anything about this. Is Lemmy usually anti-Christian? Or rather, anti-religion?

Hey y'all. I'm in a precarious situation right now. Yes, I am falling in love with someone and I want to approach this in a faithful way. My previous relationships included me putting the other person above everything basically, but I want to put God in the first place this time. It's probably healthier this way. Any Christian books about phenomenology of love or falling in love that you know of?

I was wondering, which country's exit nodes (VPN) do you use and why? Are some countries better than others (in terms of jurisdiction and laws, not latency)?

Does anyone have a reading order which makes the most sense for someone who's never read or watched anything Dune? Thank you in advance!

(NCB) Phm 19

I, Paul, am writing this with my own hand: I will repay it. I say nothing about the fact that you owe me your very self.

Context:

Paul is telling Philemon that Paul himself will repay the debt that Philemon's slave, Onesimus, owes him. He is saying this to Philemon so he would take his slave back, after Onesimus has turned to Christ and has become Paul's pupil.

Now, my question is why does Philemon owe Paul his very self? In some other translation, the word life is used instead of self.

The whole epistle can be found here.
