Yeah, no. It is not the only place to play Mario. There’s emulation and Piracy. I’m quite certain skilled people will try to hack the Switch 2 and sooner or later there will be a Switch 2 emulation (although might take a while). €80-90 euro for one single game is nuts.

The only reason I would purchase a Switch 2 is when it is capable of being hacked.

Yeah, I have. Back then I was active in a lot of political and semi-political communities, at first it was pretty decent and people were polite, debates with actual facts and links to trustable sources.

After a while though, people become more hostile, insulting and debated with emotions and zero facts. I just grew tired of it and wasn’t really active in any other community. So I left for 4-6 months.

Then one day got bored, decided to return to Lemmy but unsubscribed from every political community and I straight up blocked anyone who’s being a douche. I now stick a few communities (Piracy, gaming and books).

You can change your context with a new console, but I think it may be cheaper to do something like buying a controller and playing games while standing up, or on your couch/armchair

I will try this! Will try the standing. Though, eventually I’ll sit due just tired of standing up. The gaming PC is in my bedroom so there’s not really much room for couch and such.

I have a controller that, I often use but same issue happens of being exhausted of the feeling ‘being behind a desk and screen’.

You can also achieve this by identifying the things that you have to do in your job that mirror videogame genres you enjoy and picking a game that shares few of those qualities.

The thing is, I don’t think anything mirrors my work. I currently have a very basic accounting job and it’s not even that demanding. My work week exists of a mix with doing accounting, listen to podcasts, watching videos on phone and such.

It’s one of the most relax work I have ever had to be honest. Yet it’s the first job where this feeling of exhaustion started.

I also find stress relief games. Mindless 3rd person action games for me. Mad Max was great because I could drive around picking fights or crashing stuff. The Batman Arkham games and the Shadow of Mordor games are other great examples for me.

Yeah, so for me it would be most Switch games through emulation (such as Captain Toad, 3D World and Odyssey) and P3R/P5R.

I have not found any relaxing "cozy" games that work for me. Nothing has really grabbed my attention enough to stick with.

I checked ‘cozy’ games but like you, they don’t seem to be my type of games.

I’m truly debating about the Deck but €670 is a lot to invest when being uncertain. Also what if it wouldn’t fix the exhaustion issue of screens and desks.

How long have you been working a day job? It might just be a period of adjustment.

For about 2 months and a few days now. So I think, I already adjusted to the changes.

School life vs work life is a lot different, so it takes time to adjust for most people.

Definitely! It was tough the first few weeks, lol.

Also, if you work from home, that may also be a factor. If so, try not working where you game if possible. That was a huge thing for me.

At the moment I don’t yet, I purposely asked if I could work full time at office. I still live with parents and the distractions are a bit much. Might try working from home sooner or later though.

Apple has teased with making the iPhone-as-a-service, meaning you lease it instead of owning it.

I really like iPhones (more so iOS), especially with sideloading now.

But if leasing becomes norm and we can’t purchase it or get it through subscription of service (2 years with Vodafone and then the phone is yours kind of thing). I’ll just purchase an older Samsung. Then I’ll take the loss and struggle for a few months with the interface and all that.

Probably;

  • I’m proud. You proved everyone that you were able to do everything, they said you could not (education-wise).
  • Don’t be afraid to change jobs, get the one that’s better for your future.

Just use Real-Debrid with Stremio and you can toss out every streaming service after that.

I don’t see the problem with having both- they fill different niches.

Money. Steam Deck OLED costs in my country €700, Switch OLED €350-360 and the Switch 2 will be around the €560-600.

steam deck, I’d be really sad to not have any Mario kart, Zelda, etc…

I’m so close on purchasing a Steam Deck OLED to game in weekends or in bed after full 5 days behind a desk job. But I’m always worried that these games won’t work well with emulations. I’ve been researching like crazy but keep reading different things.

And spending €700 with uncertainty is not my favorite thing to do.

Unfortunately I don’t have knowledge about Android tweaks but I’m almost certain there is one.

Best is not to use the platform but if you do, then the best thing to do is; use a tweaked version.

One that removes the ads and gives more settings to tweak.

For iOS you can check EthMods Telegram channel and find the tweaked version and then install them through SideStore sideloading.

I’m wondering how Tumblr is a safe space while it’s still filled with porn-bots. I tried the platform several times and no matter what I do, I always get smacked with some random NSFW content.
