It's always about creating precarity for an underclass and dividing the working class. Deportation will probably be a little worse than business as usual. Based on the numbers I found online, it looks like Trumps first term in office was slightly lower than Obama which matches with my memory.
There's really no way that he'd deport more than half a million people a year. I'd expect it to be more border fascism and telling Texas to drown every immigrant in the Rio Grande.
That last sentence knocked me out of my alienated detachment and now I feel like shit knowing it's basically true and going to happen regardless of president anyway.
