We call them "fair bees"; they are drunk and aggressively non-violent about drinking your daiquiri, as well as rummaging through every trash can. Never been stung by one, but they can be aggravating sometimes cause they won't leave me or my drink alone... like any obnoxious drunk, really

So I can see how you can get to thinking about wasps from "carnival". The "fair bees" definitely remind me of wasps being assholes

We're just planning on moving now, cause we hate this place and there's a multitude of problems: A/C can't keep up with cooling the house, costs a fuck-ton in energy bills, the management company won't fix shit and they're a nightmare to work with. They tried to blame us for rats getting into the attic, when it was a known problem before. Took us 2 months to make them hire pest control, and then acted like we should be grateful for normal-upkeep, and not having rats get inside

The neighborhood is actually nice, but the big-name management company are basically slum lords with a smile. But we had 3 dogs at the time and rental options were few, that had a fenced yard and would accept 3 dogs. 2 of them sadly passed this past year, and as much as I miss them and it wrenched my heart... we realized we could probably find something better now and not need such a large yard (our last dog is old too, and doesn't romp in the yard anymore. He just enjoys little walks now)

The stove is just one of the things I hate about this place and I don't want to fix any of their shite, even for $10. We're just making it work for now

Love it. I have this tattoo as well, in big black bold letters. Almost same font size, but more compact on my upper arm. Still love it everyday

The stove in the place I rent. Only been living here maybe 2 years... and that thing is the devil. I thought it was just me getting used to an electric stove again. Nope, that thing is just a piece of shit.

Nothing can simmer, nothing can be left unattended for more than a few minutes (at most), it can't maintain anything close to a consistent temperature, and forget boiling water before you die of old age... I use an electric kettle just so I can boil noodles in less than 40 minutes

Maybe it's my pots?... nope, I've tried. Maybe I'll get better at using it?... no, and at this point I wouldn't even want to. It's just a piece of shit. My mother-in-law is a great cook, and she was pissed when she burned smothered chicken on it... because she hasn't burned smothered chicken in probably 20+ years; she confirms the stove is garbage

Fuck that stove

Thanks for hearing my rant, I feel a little better now

Edit: I forgot to mention that the fucker is BRAND NEW too. We're literally the first people to use it. Garbage-ass, giant piece of horse shit...

I would think that if you truly pick at random, it's still a 25% chance no matter how you cut it

I'm really sorry you had to experience that; sudden loss always hits the hardest. And it really stays with you, so I hope you're healing well

I'm mid-thirties and I've already lost too many people for someone my age. And it's not even drugs or anything like that (though a few were), but just unfortunate circumstances. It's one thing to have grandparents die, but friends in your cohort just hurts differently. And I've started to lose count if I don't sit and think/tally them up; which seems kinda messed up.

I mean, I should be going to more weddings and baby showers than funerals, at my age. Hell, I just lost my first two dogs and an Uncle in his early 50's, over the past 6 months... and it almost starts to feel like that's normal? Like, "well fuck, here we go again"

I like to think that it's the unfortunate/inevitable consequence of having so much love in your life. It hurts like hell, but I would never take back the time I had with them. "The good die young" and all that, so maybe I've just been fortunate enough to know people who are too good, to stay too long (though I'm not sure what that says about myself lol). A minor condolence but it does help me cope

Be well friend and also: May the Force be with you, Sami

Wish I was knowledgeable enough to create my own malicious link for scammers. "Sure, I'll send you what I can to help! Just click this link so my bank can confirm it's me who's sending the money"

Voyager was fleeing home

That gave me a good chuckle

The first two seasons of DS9 are rough, not gonna lie. The first season is downright bad, imo. But the third season really starts to slap and I've been invested now (I'm midway through season 4)

I'm more of a TOS fan, but also really love me some Voyager. But TOS is just great Sci-fi (with awesome sets) and I gravitate towards it more

To me, TOS, TNG, and Voyager are more like scooby-doo episodes... whereas DS9 has way more story building. So I guess it just depends on the type of "Space" you like watching

Fuck me lol, that one got me

It's also the only one that's an Xray instead of a CT
