I first played the game on 3DS a long time ago, and god, i spent like 20 minutes going through the dialog trying to figure out why i couldn't escape. Somethings are just part of the experience i guess

Sea of Thieves is a yes, basically any game i play with water goes on it. Subnautica i have played but it was on a cheap laptop with a duo core CPU and 6 GB of RAM so... i didn't but it on there out of courtesy to give it a fair shot. I want to pick it up again on Steam though to give it a try. I'm not to invested in the lore though so i'm probably going to hold off until the sequel too buy it so i can play with friends

I swap back and forth between graphics, but freecam always goes on for me. It's so nice with modern controllers

I tried to get one of his head but i couldn't get the animation to time right outside of the dialog, and i'm kind of tough on myself about not using dialogs or preset camera angles for my screenshots

idk, maybe it's just me being picky or some sort of placebo on my part. I just like the different ways it looks for the most part lol

[–] MyNameIsAtticus@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago

fair enough lol. i grew up on the 3DS one so it's probably nostalgia for me too, though i honestly i mostly prefer the graphics just because something about N64 Link's nose bothers me

[–] MyNameIsAtticus@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago

i catalog it all on a Scale of 1-10 whenever i play a new game (w/ water ofc)

I didn't realize there was a prejudice against ghosts. Like the Time Trial ones or the power up?

[–] MyNameIsAtticus@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

It might just be me but there's not a single course on here that i don't like. They're all really stable and sound tracks to play. To me it's the best core Mario Kart experience.

[–] MyNameIsAtticus@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I've been avoiding anything about Mario Kart World (mainly because i can't afford a switch 2 and as much as i'd like to justify getting World, it's just Mario Kart again in my eyes). But i looked it up and holy shit you're right. I'm happy to see it back, i hope it wasn't butchered like they did N64 Rainbow Road on 8 though (at least, that was my personal opinion), i'm trying to stay optimistic and open though

Hey! i always love seeing people sync up with me. It's fun seeing people get up to the same thing as me

Fair enough lol. I love the track for how freakishly long it is and feeling like a victory lap, but i can see the appeal of the later one's challenges

Today's screenshot is some more Minecraft Xbox 360 edition. Using my new nether portal i finally got to make last time i took a trip to the nether, i went and gathered some glowstone for my tunnel i built to light it up to help cut back on torches and light it up a little more.

The trip was fairly easy. There was a nether fortress right next to the portal that i could quickly tunnel over too to rummage around in. I used that to get close to a glowstone deposit.

I ended up finding one outcrop fairly close to the Portal just up a few floors after i had to escape from some Blazes and Ghast's firing on me like it was a Battle FIeld. It gave me a little over a stack of glowstone which was more than enough for my tunnel.

On the way back i found the spawner that the blazes were coming from. I went ahead and lit it up to stop them from spawning for now. My hopes are too get some Blaze Rods to get to the end soon, i'll need to gear up for it though because Blaze's have always been a bit of a challenge for me. Maybe it's time i pick up potion brewing and make a potion of fire resistance.

After that excursion i made my way home, which luckily turned out to be easy to find. I was worried i'd lose the portal but the Nether Fortress turned out to be easy to navigate. I went home and made the glowstone blocks and installed them all before stopping for the night. Next time i want to see about getting the Blaze Rods or maybe hunting some Endermen.

Today's game is Oblivion Remastered. I planned for the last one to be the last post, but the crashing kept me from finishing the Fighter's Guild Quest. I powered through though and finished it. I was hoping to do 100% of the quests, but the crashing just became so bad, that i settled for what Steam considers 100%. So main story, shivering isles, and Guild Quests.

Before i ended my playthrough i had a few stops. The first was that i wanted to get a screenshot of the City, which was the very first screenshot of this i did. I used the freecam again to get this one. I tried Console commands to disable the HUD but couldn't get them to work for whatever reason.

I also spent a while wandering around Chorrol for a little while at night. It's a pretty city and one of my favorites so i wanted to see it one last time. But there was one final stop i had to make to see a special someone...

And that was the adoring fan. I visited him in the house i bought for him. I meant to get a decent photo of his face but got a little sidetracked messing around with the freecam. Instead i turned out with some of these beauties:

And that was where i ended my playthrough. My hero of Kvatch retired to his Waterfront shack to live out the rest of his days with the Adoring Fan. I like to imagine when he reappears as the Sheogorath in Skyrim, he was driven mad by his time with the Adoring Fan.

Today's game is REPO. Look at this guy with a pointy hat i found. We ended up getting a quite few cycles in, before dying, so we kept starting over lol. The game overall was just behaving really weirdly too.

For example the Reaper got stuck in place for an entire level. I even went right up to her and got in her face and started yelling. Nothing. She didn't even get Agro'd. We didn't complain though, allowed us to finish without much issue, that is until my friend get struck by the head coming flying into the room and the Animal trampling us all. We all made it out though luckily.

We also found the Eyeball just... chilling on the floor. Harmless. We stood on it, jumped on it, lunged into it, even kissed it. Nothing. We ended up leaving it there. It was cool too see the top of the model though since we don't usually get to see that.

During one of the levels in the museum two of my friends stopped for a solid ten minutes to try and read a sign. I'm so proud of them for learning! In all honesty though it took them a while because the text was all squiggles so it was hard to read.

The last level we did we got fenced in by 3 Bowties (these guys that turn into giant fans that kill you). They bugged out and could see us through things for some reason and killed all of us, and then on of their friends on Accident. It was fun seeing the horde of Big White Lumpy things though stampede through the house before our sudden death.

Today's game is Oblivion Remaster. While playing Fallout 76 i realized I've been putting this off, so i resolved to finish it tonight. I didn't end up doing that but I'm like 5 quests away from finishing the last Guild Quest line, which is the Fighter's guild. Hopefully today will be the last post for Oblivion, but i wouldn't be surprised if tomorrow's is also because of how frequently the game crashes now. It could easily drag out to like 4 hours.

I took the above screenshot it a Chapel while doing a quest to track down Ectoplasm. I broke into the basement and killed all their ghosts. I have no clue why this Chapel just has a Haunting of Ghosts in it's basement, but i solved the problem for them regardless.

I also did the quest where i have to track down Blackheart, and let me tell you, this quest was miserable. I have to wait for this guy to walk too this specific spot, and i have to walk with him while he does it. It's slow and tedious. And before that i had to finagle him into just the right position to get him to start a dialog line.

Another quest the game had me do was one where i escort a Mage to a Deadric shrine. The quest was pretty simple, and i was honestly expecting it to turn out she turns on you or tries to sacrifice you or something. But nope, you just walk down there with her and then leave. All in all a pretty simple quest.

The final quest i did was one where i went and rescued this Orc Noble's daughter from Ogres when they kidnapped her while she was picking rocks. It was all in all a pretty simple quest. I was expecting to have too delve into a dungeon or something. But nope. I just go out too the woods a few yards away and kill the Ogres. It was a quick process. It honestly took longer to get there then to do the quest. I like the characters though, so i still enjoyed it.

Today's game is Fallout 76. Me and my Friend hopped on too play the new fishing mechanic they added, and i also ended up redoing a decent chunk of my base. I moved it to the mire and i really like how it turned out.

I have this shed/barn thing i built for my Companion because she's scripted to go hang out at the computer from time to time. Because of that i gave her a little workshop to work in, complete with workstations and the like.

Inside has a Log Cabin design too it. I have my bed behind that half wall there and a mounted Wendigo on the wall above the couch. There's also a piano for musical purposes. The floor does have an issue with Grass clipping in which is a bit annoying, but besides that i really like the way it looks.

While we were spot hunting for the house, me and my friend stumbled on a Mirelurk Queen which we killed. Midway through the fight she just got stuck in an act of classic Bethesda jank. While my friend took close range with a shotgun i stayed behind and took Sniper Shots with a hunting rifle with a scope i have.

I also mentioned the new Fishing update, which has this weird fish guy who can only growl, and a hermit crab living in a boat as a shell. The fish guy reminds me of the Mirelurks from New Vegas/3, so part of me wonders if that is what the guy is. If not that then maybe something similar.

The whole fishing quest centers around this really pretty and spooky swamp area. I found a note showing what seems to be more of the games Lovecraft-esque lore which is really interesting. I googled it and it seems to be about a being called The Interloper which is like a sentient root creature. It's really interesting, I'm hoping they do more with it, especially since they haven't abandoned the game yet (even after it catastrophic launch)

Today is some more Stellaris. I did some multiplayer with a friend this time. He has a bunch of mods on that i added. Some serious. Some... not so much. I ended up going with a mod he had that added a Catgirl race for my empire, so you can guess which of the two categories it fell into.

At first i decided to just throw myself into the memey side of it (as you can tell by the default names). But then, i made them a ring world dwelling species and got a little too invested in world building. Now they're a Monarchy led by a female regnant, called a Queen (But, like, in the term for a Non-Spayed Cat, because the empire is kind of like their child), then the heir is a Molly (Which in irl cats is the term for a Spayed cat, which as the heir wouldn't be able to have the 'Child' (Empire). This made a lot more sense in my head the other day at 12 AM when i first made them in the server). I've made them diplomatic and social empire, but with Policies that allow them to invade others if it's for their defense, though even then they're generally pretty nice with all the people the invade. Mostly because they're Xenophiles.

My friend, who is the Mertillian Empire (you can see it in the main screenshot above that big pink one), has some fun lore for his species too. I don't know all of it but they're a fungal race who's a "dictatorship but they elect the dictator based on who can lay the most spores. Their leader is called a spore mother". He's trying to play a fully diplomatic and isolationist empire, but i keep pulling him into my wars.

The first were these guys. They kept getting really pissy with me, and i kept trying to make friends. They eventually got their affinity to start plummeting though for some reason, so i took them along with my friend and made them a Vassal State. The terms are actually pretty innocent. They basically get full sovereignty, i just reserve the right to absorb them into my empire if i want. (honestly though i like them, they're pretty chill now that they stopped being Xenophobic)

These guys just straight up offered themselves as a Vassal State. I said yes, though their terms state that if we go to war they have to help me. In return though i'll do the same thing. I also am allowed to reserve the right to dissolve them into my country though.

All this war prep is for these guys. They've had a big problem with trying to wipe out everyone else. Me and my Friend briefly held them in a federation so they couldn't invade anyone, but we've been gathering allies to help invade them. I intend to make them a Vassal, at least for now, so they don't keep picking fights. Ultimately though me and my friend are debating seeing if we can just take over the map to unify the galaxy for the Crisis. We'll have to see though, i'm not too keen on the idea of absorbing an entire Empire just yet.

Today's game is some more REPO. Me and my friends finally got a chance to give the new Beta a try and we've been having a lot of fun. One of our favorite things is the Lazer Gun Thingy they added. We've only seen one but when we first found it i accidentally used it to kill my entire party because i didn't realize it's like a full 10 seconds in lazer length. I ended up trying to flush the evidence in the screenshot above.

The art museum Map has also been getting a bunch of fun new paintings. I've been having fun just going to look at all the different ones. My favorite is one of what i believe is the head, i've also seen one for the Bowtie (pictured above) and the Eye.

I've discovered the game has an option to turn off the filter, which i'm wishing i had discovered sooner because the filter absolutely butchers screenshots, especially the ones steam saves as a JPG. For example the screenshot above: It had really cool creepy hallway vibes but the photo is absolutely butchered. it's darker than it was in game and grainier too.

Today for the most part it was just me and two other friends. The others that usually join me were busy with something else. Most of our levels went smoothly, except for the last one where a Huntsman came in and wrecked them right as we got in the truck. I managed to make a run for the switch though right as the huntsman was dealing with them. I got this cute picture of us hiding under the counter.

Today's game is Stellaris. I picked this up with the Winter Sale and finally decided to give it a go. I'm hooked. I made my own Empire and tried to go for a diplomatic xenophile fox like species named Cevellians. They're an Elected Dictatorship (at least if i remember correctly) and they've formed a treaty with one of their neighbors.

At first tensions with all the neighbors except the Saiiban Foundation were tense. Eventually though the Haspalv Federation kept getting their asses kicked by the Kaan-Visam federation and the neighbors north, and they offered themselves as a territory. I said yes, intending to annex them and making them a Vassal after tensions with Kaan-Visam calm down.

Kaan-Visam ended up declaring war on me though, and my allies and me went to war against them. They only had two major points of entry into our system, so i rapidly militarized and steam rolled them. I didn't really understand the claims system until after the war, but i accidentally walked off with the majority of their territory. I'm trying to improve diplomatic relations with them and annex them so that way i don't have to deal with their constant invasions, though after taking most their land they've chilled out. Still, i'd like peace if possible, and if not i'll have to militarize again for self defense.

So far this is what the galaxy looks like. I've been making deals with everyone i'm in good standing with. Theirs one Corporation Faction that keeps subjecting people by force. So far they took the entire southern portion of the map. If they try to invade me or my allies though i'm preparing to invade for self defense. I also told all their Territories that if they try for independence i'll help them. The faction scooping everyone up is getting really annoying and they're starting to push everyone around.

Today's game is some more Tomodachi Life. I've added a ton more Miis lately too. I added Hatsune Miku (who's in the screenshot above) who's been getting close to my friend's adopted daughter named Lamb (also in the screenshot above) from Minecraft (on a modded world that makes Villagers like sims. She's named Lamb because he intended to use her as a sacrificial "Lamb" for a magic mod but got attached). Lamb has been on a fast track to becoming friends with everyone surprisingly enough. She likes almost everyone she's met so far.

I also found a mod that adds Gay Marriage (or i guess it'd be more accurate to say it makes everyone bi), or at least that's what it claims, which saves me from having to go in with a save editor and change my Miis genders to respect my friend's sexuality. I still don't know if it actually works but it also changed the Compatibility tester to work for Same Gender so i'd have to assume it works for the actual marriage part.

I also added Uriel Septim from Oblivion after a friend made a Mii for him. He had a Dream (or for him i guess a prophecy) where he was falling through the sky doing spins and panicking. Maybe this is what he saw in his dreams before his assassination? It really

I also added Lego ObiWan. I haven't interacted with him much yet because he's fairly new but he had a dream where he was a bobblehead in a car. Oddly fitting for a lego.

I also found out my Mii hates white bread. I'm not sure why but he despises it. I fed him a slice and absolutely hated it. He's a lot pickier than i am irl. Like the only food he's liked is a Veggie Burger and Salisbury Steak.

I also added a Mii called Jeffery, who is a Marine in Halo 2 that we went through the entire level trying to keep alive while on legendary. After that he got a place in my friend group's 'Lore Book' we keep. He was in the news apparently for putting Mustard on everything and was arrested by my Friend and Max Payne.

Real Quick before i posted this, I opened the 3DS one more time before posting this too and Lamb decided to become friends with Uriel Septim too. It went really well and i'm suspecting they'll become best friends.

Today's game is some more Minecraft Xbox 360 edition. I finally managed to find diamonds after a decent amount of play time. Not only that but i found 5! 3 in a ore vein and two in a mineshaft chest. Immediately i used them to make a diamond pickaxe and then surfaced so i didn't lose them.

I ended up putting the portal in this shallow cave next to my home. I thought it'd give it a cool "ruins" kind of look along with keeping it decently far away from my home.

I immediately popped in to see if i can get some glowstone for my tunnel to light it with. While i wasn't able to reach any i did find out there was a Nether Fortress right next to the portal which will be super handy. I ended up sprinting back home though after i narrowly dodged a fireball from a ghast.

I also found a spawner in the minseshaft. I hope to use it to farm bones in some capacity to tame dogs. I've almost never made a vanilla mob grinder before so i want to try making my own from scratch. I think it would be fun.

Someone on the last post was asking if Splitscreen works on Xenia, so i decided to test it. I didn't test too long because it was just me, but it seemed to work perfectly fine on my rig. I'd assume the entire game was playable this way.

It did throw off my system's bluetooth card and caused some delay, but i suspect that's more from Linux having a stroke from having 3 Bluetooth devices connected at the same time instead of Xenia. The delay did keep scaring the shit out of me while mining though because i'd walk on a patch of dirt and by the time i was back on stone the dirt sounds would just start hitting. Gave me a heart attack thinking someone was behind me like some Herobrine creepypasta lol.

You'll also notice that the Minecraft logo is plastered at the top. For some reason when i first loaded in it bugged out and that got stuck. Opening and closing the world fixed it though.

Today's screenshot is some more Minecraft Xbo 360 edition. Last time i played i built a basic tunnel going through a hill. Today i decided to decorate it. I used jungle wood and cobblestone for the walls. I think i overdid it on the torches a little though.

I also lined the ceiling with Jungle wood planks after i realized the dirt looks a little off. It gives it a feel I like. Honestly i wasn't sure about using Jungle Planks for my Base, but i'm starting to really dig it. I kind of like it now. At some point once i get to the nether i'd like to use glowstone to line the ceiling instead of torches. I think it would look cooler.

Speaking of the nether, it's crazy how hard diamonds are to get in older versions. I have about 5-6 hours in this world and haven't found a single Diamond. I feel like the rates were upped in the newer versions

Before i logged off, My barrier of trees i planted on the hill too give it a grotto feel also sprouted. I've had a few problems with mobs spawning up there though, so i plan next time i play to go up there and coat the thing in torches. I was going to do it before getting off, but my controller had 5% left and i didn't have the charger on hand so i ended up stopping there before i was stranded without a controller.

Today's game is some more Oblivion Remaster. I started the Fighter's Guild questline today. As far as i know it's the last major guild questline i have to do. I checked the quest tree briefly and it seems a little more complex than the others, nothing too bad though. While doing the Rat quest i found Shadowmere outside making friends with the other horses. I say good on her. She could use some friends to do whatever it is evil daedric-like horses do with.

When i went down into the basement to save the Rats i ended up spending longer than i had expected down there just fawning over the rats. They're adorable and remind me so much of my own pet rat i used to have. I left them some snacks the last time i was down there.

While helping the Shopkeeper too one of the intruders tried to run away. I managed to chase him outside and he died in this satisfying pose. One of his friends inside just vanished after i killed them. The other one stayed though. I looted like 60 gold of them after i chased them around the Anvil Docks to figure out where they went.

That was where the Oblivion remaster lovingly decided to crash though. One of the last screenshots i took before the crash was of the Adorable Mojo in the Guild hall. I'll try again some more tomorrow to hopefully finish the questline as the quests don't seem like theyd take too long
