Because the country suffered an American coup d'état in 2014. The coup was used to install an anti-Russian government and repress progressive forces, like the Communist Party of Ukraine. After 2014, Ukraine ceased to be an independent country, and became a proxy of the US. A proxy to be used in Washington's strategy of encircling and destroying Russia. This war was always going to happens, but Russia invaded Ukraine to make sure it happens on Russia's terms, instead of American.

Also imo, the dream of an independent Ukraine is long gone. Because of US interference, Ukraine can only survive by being a part of Russia, or by remaining a lackey of the US and EU.

NATO losing Turkey would be a big loss, but I doubt it will happen.

I worked in a company where the dofus clueless CTO decided to transfer half of the data centers to the cloud to cut costs. I've since left the company, but I always knew this would happen.

Bring back the wall now!

What countries do you think would be less likely to disclose your private data? I was thinking of either Switzerland or Belarus. But here's some things to consider:

  • Don't assume that just because countries have bad relations that they won't share private information with each other. For example, in 2021 the Mayor of Lisbon disclosed personal information of Russian immigrants in Portugal with the Russian government. This was an act of incompetence which resulted in a 1.2M€ fine. But the damage was done.
  • Even if there are laws in place, the hosting company might have sloppy procedures in place and disclose your private information.
  • The country should also not be the target of heavy sanctions because you might get in trouble for trying to do business with them.

So which countries do you recommend?

They really have to push the train because there's no electricity.
