Happened to me for the first time in... maybe ever. It really does feel nice. We've slowed down just a bit in the past few weeks though.

Hmm, this is very reassuring in the wake of grok calling itself mechahitlervery-normal

About to start my vacay and uh... I actually set something up with some old friends? We had a running joke for a while where every new year we'd be like "hey we should hang out" and then someone else would say maybe next year. And it just kept on going like that until one dropped out. After that the remaining two of us kind of kept it going until we had agreed to meet up a couple years ago. That fell through and the dream was pretty much dead.

Since I was going to take my vacay I decided to try and set it up again and, well, to my surprise I was able to get everyone to agree to something next week. I've never really been the friend that invites people out and this past year or so I've been trying as much as I can just because I've grown distant from the friends I used to have that would drag me everywhere. So to finally have some success. Well, fingers crossed that we actually end up meeting up. Need to fill out a few more days, but things are off to a nice start.

Yeah, both are via conference call, but it really doesn't make it much better. Especially when there's actual shit to get done.

I fucking hate that I'm now in the corporate world, even though its just a toe in the door. We're have a meeting where its completely irrelevant to anything I do. And its one thing if we never had any other meeting, but we do! I fucking hate this shit.

Also making cuts to programs like SNAP and other social safety net programs aimed at helping families, and in particular children, goes a long way towards making having children less affordable. Again, something political. These fucks want people to have more kids while cutting down any sort of help they could have to raise them and then turn around and whine about how kids aren't being raised right these days and blame the parents.

NGL I was a bit confused by people joking about it getting flooded. Like its obvious they don't give a fuck if the camps they built get flooded, as a matter of fact it clearly part of what they want the prisoners there to experience.

Is my hatred of AI voice videos irrational and unwarranted?

Hearing the same one or two voices is fucking grating to my ears. The flow and tone always seems off and I fucking hate it. Yet a number of people I know constantly watch AI voiced videos.

I recently saw a meme where one panel had Spiderman saying "treat minorities with respect" with a kid admiring him in 1994, then the next panel was Spiderman saying the same thing but now the kid is grown up in 2025 and he's raging at how Spiderman is woke and he wasnt like this when he was a kid.

Lesson being, Spiderman didn't change, the kid just grew up to be a chud.

Anyway here's grok calling itself MechaHitleri-am-adolf-hitler

This is the man that Democrats wanted to recruit as an ally, all while screaming down anyone against the genocide in Gaza and labeling them as the antisemites.

I thought Milchick's character development was one of, if not the most, compelling parts of season 2. I had been wanting to do a little post/commentary on it, but Afrodizjha does a much better job of putting it together than I could ever hope.

Best part is:

The New Orleans Police Department said in a statement that “law enforcement is working to determine applicable charges in this incident.”

They arrested him before determining what he could be charged with.

Death to America

UPDATE: No charges. Still imagine probably spent the night locked up for caring about people being genocided. And I'm guessing the NFL won't be reversing their ban on him from all events.

In a rare youtube algoritim W, I got recommended the trailer for the series from Chinese studio Flint Sugar, which is releasing in 2025, based on this short film. Kinda gives some FLCL vibes, at least in so far as the style.

Guess Brian Thompson didn't bring his moral vest to his visit to NYC. Oh wait, that's right. He never had one because his job is to be immoral for the sake of chasing the fantastical ever growing profit margin.

I'll allow myself to get hyped just this once. Funny thing is I've recently been thinking of rewatching season 1.

“Because history is edited, most people today don’t realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews,” Carano wrote online at the time, “How is that any different from hating someone for their political views?”

The mayor has blamed the budget cuts on federal COVID aid ending, and the cost of the migrant crisis in the city.

Seeing this is being reported uncritically on a few other websites and on TV news as well.

The language surrounding the migrant situation is becoming more and more dangerous. It was only a month or two ago that Top Cop Adams said that the migrant "crisis" would destroy the city. Now we have the media running around putting the blame for budget cuts on migrants.

Here's a NYT article that goes into more detail on the recent budget cuts: https://web.archive.org/web/20231116210120/https://www.nytimes.com/2023/11/16/nyregion/nyc-budget-cuts-schools-police-trash.html
