Seemingly it is not possible when using the ionic framework which the dev uses to create/develop the app

Maybe use that information to try and influence the public in the same way that cambridge analytica did for the 2016 elections.

For translation you can use this. Since you can use Google translation service as the backend(?), it works as good as Google translate atleast in my experience

Good news about page translation, Firefox is adding it, and it's all done locally too, no phoning home to their or somebody else's translation servers.

Till then there is this open source extension which provides the same functionality including local offline translation

I thought more the logic behind this move was that people use a lot of web services these days so a lot of software on which is pre installed is redundant and hence a waste of resources.

I have edited the comment above. I had made an error while typing. Please check if that changes anything

Maybe you can try logging in before changing the file. Then quit steam, change the file and restart your ~~steam~~ system and then try to open steam. This was the exact process I followed and it worked.

Edit : the change to the .desktop file is not applied until you reboot your system.

This is not a feature yet. I would love it if the dev or somebody else who knows programming can add this in.

The line you are changing is the right one. Change the PrefersNonDefaultGPU option from true to false

https://lemmy.one/post/151466. Refer to this for the location of the file. This is for the native .deb package

This is an issue you should raise with the lemmy devs and not in this community as they are the ones who will be able to fix it.

I asked about this to a system76 employee and what he told me was that nvidia with CUDA is still much better for several professional use cases and because of that, they still prefer using nvidia

@ljdawson@lemmy.world were you able to recreate the issue? I went through the settings and could find nothing that I could have done that would lead to this issue. All I have changed since installing the app is changing fonts and font sized. Almost all other settings are whatever they were by default.

Hell there comments in this very thread made by you and me that don't load up in sync. https://lemmy.one/comment/2596964.

If you have not been able to recreate the issue, I will make a post enquiring as to if others are facing the same issue or if it is some problem on my end
