In other words, lack of accountability leads to bad behaviour. He might be onto something there…

Ja wo isse denn jetzt, die Technologieoffenheit?

You could try laughing at them instead, but maybe then they start the punching.

He kinda did answer, basically "we'll have import tariffs to pay for all we need including child care" while making it sound like other countries would pay for it. But of course that's stupid because the money will come from the people who buy the imported goods, i.e. Americans.

And if a self-proclaimed "alpha male" elicits a reaction of fear or anger that confirms their self-image. But being called weird, or laughed at like the clowns they are, undermines their whole act.

For the price I would want it to be a complete smartphone, with SIM and GPS and everything, just with an e-ink display for battery saving and readability in sunlight.

"To be successful, a European citizens' initiative has to reach one million statements of support as well as minimum thresholds in at least 7 countries."

Sounds to me like all votes count, but only if it goes over 1.000.000. And that is the big hurdle here, if you multiply the current votes by 4 to get over a million you automatically have seven countries over the threshold.

They're such a bunch of weird cockwombles.

That's a stupid chart. The "100%" implies that those countries are "done", while the petition needs at least 1.000.000 participants (regardless of their country) and it's missing over 700.000 to reach the goal.

There's also Rust for the Polyglot Programmer which seems to be a generic version of those.

Maybe this should have been the initial announcement before they pushed it onto users. Though obviously some of the backlash is due to inept media going (as usual) for clickbait instead of research and actual reporting.
