On #2 I'm pretty sure Trump will provide and let the entity use even bigger bombs, and more of them. He just wants them to "finish" the job. The Dems want the same, but they want it done slowly so that people stop paying attention and move onto other things.

"Joy" and "You won't have to think about politics" does not a vision make. Your average voter wants a vision for the future, even though they know it's a lie. Wheeling out establisment republicans ( of whom most liberals viscerally hated in the 00's) doesn't get out the vote? Who could have guessed? Why vote for republican lite when you can vote for the "real" thing? Misogyny and racism also played a role, no doubt about that.
Good. The crimes will hasten capitalism's downfall. If only we had some sort of countervailing force to take advantage of that. Hmmm.
