This weird equivalence some people draw between liking/agreeing with a significant amount of ML work and defending everything the Soviet Union and CCP have ever done....it's really weird

As part of mourning people would eat parts of dead family members.

Also alot of people who find out about this think you'll get it from eating just anyone's brain but the chance of developing the initial desiese is literally one in a milion, not that you should go around eating brains

TLDR: poor project management & bad security and stability even though it specifically promotes itself as stable. Here's a video I think explains it pretty well https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=5KNK3e9ScPo&pp=ygURbWFuamFybyBsaW51eCBiYWQ%3D

I think emulating twitter was a huge mistake for mastadon, the twitter reply structure that makes it difficult to have a long conversation with multiple people to be the main part of the post but ideal for "dunks" and outrage farming. I think the Tumblr reblog structure would have been an infinitly better choice for the more actual socialising thing fediverse is going for and a small user base that isnt producing much content and can re-circulate older posts. also it's less image-centric allowing more posts to be stored on a server, additionally (intuitively, I haven't thought about implementation that hard) it seems like a much more natural fit for federation.

It's because a native Japanese speaker it's likely to split an English word like lock into 2 syllables(and ad an oo sound to the end so the 2nd syllable has a vowel) resulting in "lo-ku" and there is no distinction between r and l in Japanese so it's also "ro-ku"

I'd never heard of anyone else this happed to before! Less consequences for me but there was a ~4 year period of my life where at least once a week I'd have a dream wherei just got up and went through a normal day from 8:00 to like 11:00 or as late as like 16:00 sometimes. For example in the dream I would wake up, go to the gym, hang out with my friends as normal and then I would wake up and have to do the whole day again, but sometimes I thought the dream had been real and would brace myself to deal with leftover arguments or jobs from the dream

The only tell I ever noticed was that people were way meaner in the dream
