They used telescopes to infer that this planet has a specific molecule on it that is known to be made by life on earth and not en masse by any other process.

IMO this is a stretch because life on another planet probably has somewhat different chemistry. There is a massive unfounded bias in all pop exobiology that finding other life means finding stuff just like life on earth.

Which is not to say it isn't neat but it is literally another planet light years away. We know almost nothing about it.

When I see a Ford F-150, I shake my head and think, "loser".

"The workers" will not wake up on their own, ever. Concerted organizing is always required and even the successful movements never arrive fully formed. Expect overt violence and heightened contradictions. More fertile ground for organizing coupled with repression and 20 new kinds of Pinkertons. Trying to organize younger workers that won't recognize the dangers of organizing with their phones and spying cloud services until their friends start dying. There is no guarantee that "the workers" will succeed on any first round. The path may involve a fascisy takeovet, bourgeous revolution, and only then a socialist surge. The intermediary period could look like the status quo but with a higher prison population, lower pay, higher rent, worse education, and increased reactionary sentiment.

We do still need to organize, to build the best possible path. And hey, there might be a soft balkanization where we can organize more safely in certain states.

Hell yeah.

PS lizard milk is basically a watered down virgin pina colada.

I don't really know that much about it, sorry. I just know sudden chronic headache is common with concussions and that docs can help with it. I'm glad you're seeing one!

I guess the other thing I know is that you should be extra careful about not getting any more, though it's not like most people set out to get a concussion.

As a construction manager there's a decent chance some of those friends were people he supervised and helped exploit by leveraging their legal immigration status.

That sucks, comrade. I'm sorry you're dealing with that.

Are your previous injuries possibly concussions? If you haven't, please do your best to see a doctor about this.

Cool part is that this is a whole-ass eel. It feels all the same stuff as any other eel but it is clear like jelly.

Even a social club and reading group would be something, as it is an organization that can griw, adopt positions, hold lines, and mobilize when events call you to action. It can also act as a group that eventually splits to form a party (or if you are very effective, becomes a party).

So you can start just that small: regular social events (picnics, meeting at a beer hall, etc) and regular reading group sessions. It can start with just a handful of people and grow from there. This will also organically teach everyone involved some organizing skills if you rotate responsibilities like booking venues, leading discussions, handling disagreements and conflicts, evaluating and explaining political materials.

The nice thing about starting there is that you don't need to call yourself the vanguard party if that feels LARPy. You don't have to take yourselves too seriously, it is literally a social club and reading group. But you may find that you can and want to build something more active and serious with a subset of comrades from such an organization.

Most of the time this means a company bought another in order to decrease competition or to enter a new market. In both cases they are planning to reduce staff and other costs. Sometimes this is due to redundancy, like only needing half the HR staff. More commonly it's because those in charge need to ensure "the numbers" are good for the first few years so they don't get blamed for a loss of profit.

Also, always remember that worsening working conditions are often just constructive dismissal. The new boss that seems bad, the worse commute, the worse responsibilities? While those can just be the way the new overlords do tgings, it can also be a way to get you to quit so they don't have to pay unemployment.
