40C is a decently warm idle temperature, is your cooling system powerful enough?

Mmm, I'm sure a pizza party will make up for them not being able to pay rent

Fair enough. Honestly both of them are rather irrelevant to me because I don't use microblogging social media platforms, so I have no stake in the fight.

Fully agreed. While it is morally positive to avoid especially unethical companies, ultimately it's not possible in all cases. As long as you try to be moral in your day to day actions and you on some level push for things to be better, you're not morally culpable for the failings of the current system.

This is the kind of person that gets Florida man articles written about them.

It always takes just a bit longer than you expect it to.

Oh, I'm fully aware. That's honestly the kicker, they could host those apps on the web and have me be able to access everything through my browser, but no, instead I have to install their stupid apps just so they can harvest my data.

That's fair, I personally prefer Voyager but it's entirely subjective.

Oh crap, I forgot which asklemmy I'm on, I'm a dumbass.

[–] TheSaneWriter@lemm.ee 9 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Ah yeah, that's the type of thing where you only find it from luck.

Yeah, it sucks because you can do really cool stuff with web apps these days but no, instead I need 140 native apps for basically every mobile service because their mobile websites are abhorrently designed and basically only exist to point you towards the app.

As much as any other app I've seen, but I would still recommend using unique credentials for Lemmy.
